Tillogram

Hi All

@tyme @AuntGlow @Jynx @rav3n @MJG017 @NightFury @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Appleblossom @Dimity and many others I have accidentally forgotten to tag

Just letting people know I am back safely from my trip.

I had a great trip, my sport event was brilliant and then I travelled a little bit.

Not sure how much engagement I will have with forums as only just returned to this cold weather!

I'm not sure what's been happening, but I hope everyone is well.

Re: Tillogram

@Till23 just curious hun... how do you define 'self-care'?

Sitting in the sun doing puzzles sure sounds like self-care to me.

I think you deserve all the care and support hun! Why? Cos you're human!

And a good human at that. And I know that cos I have spoken to you for more than 5 minutes, and it is obvious haha.

It's not a waste of time if it matters to you. Cos if it matters to you, then it matters. I do understand that perhaps you need to be choosey about where you direct your energy though.

Also, whilst yes, I am a busy lil bee, I always get round eventually. Don't feel like you gotta refrain from expressing yourself on my account!

Re: Tillogram

Oh yes @Jynx sitting in the sun doing anything is pretty much self-care. I don't do it very often and when I do I usually feel guilty or I'm planning something or actually working on something. I have increased this kind of self care since I retired. I don't do things like buy myself treats or things like that though, but anything connecting with nature is self-care for me. Going to psychologist would be self-care.

Yes I'm usually pretty careful where I direct my resources.

Thanks for chatting Jynx I am going to sign off.

Re: Tillogram

Aye, goes to show how subjective it is!! For some it's bubble baths, for others it's skydiving! haha

Nighty night @Till23

Re: Tillogram

I suppose @Jynx it is anything you do just for yourself, and not have to worry or really consider other people

So that could be a bubble bath (I think I might have had one in my life), could be sky diving, or travelling, sitting in the sun absorbing nature, bushwalking, doing puzzles, but it could be going to a show or a concert with other people, having a coffee with others etc.

I feel I have to wear a mask when I'm with others so for me, I wouldn't count those things as self-care.

Hope you have a relaxing night @Jynx

I'm off to sport training tomorrow.

Re: Tillogram

I get this, it can be tricky to discern at times, can't it? I think fully surrendering to what your body is asking of you can help to illuminate what you're needing most. @Till23

It sounds like you have been keeping up with a lot, despite only just getting back from your holiday (and straight into Winter weather too!).

Isn't it lovely when an old interest is reignited? What have you been watching? And what activities do you do at the same time? ☺️

Oh, I can imagine this experience with your therapist would have felt rather destabilising and vulnerable for you... especially without your dogs or Dad there for comfort. Know that we don't want you to feel alone. You're always encouraged to come here for support. Recovery oriented doesn't mean not having big feelings or challenging thoughts, it just means looking at ways we can work through them together to shift the familiar pattern.

Your authenticity and honesty are welcome. 💛

You too @Appleblossom. I am glad you were able to honour your dad. It sounds like a part of you is processing, healing, and learning more about what life looks like on your own. How are you feeling about this? 💗

Re: Tillogram

Thanks @AuntGlow I think you are finishing in a few minutes. So thanks for checking in.

I am putting one foot in front of the other trying to move forward. It seems to be going a bit slow but......

I've just been watching a couple of series on ABC and SBS some started before I left, some started while I was away.

Thanks for your kind words inviting me to continue posting on forums. I don't want to clog up a resource that can be better utilised by other people. I have a psychologist at the moment, I probably won't be able to afford that shortly with MHCP sessions used up now. Still I am maybe more fortunate than other people in being able to afford the gap. I suppose I've come here to kind of validate what I feel, by hearing similar stories from other members. I have propbably over utilised the forums lately, so will probably taper off

See you

Hello @Till23 , @AuntGlow , @Jynx , @tyme

To answer your question @AuntGlow from the other thread

I am feeling the phone appointment will not work as I find it hard to talk to the specialist face to face

I have written everything down

And tried to send it to the nurse but no reply from the nurse
