How do people function while living with ADHD? I’m pretty much non-functional, it’s taking a toil on my mental health, I’m stuck in constant rumination. I try to look for a reasonable solution, but I see the unreasonable
@AuntGlow lately I've realised that I may need assistance with diet and exercise. I am worried that my mental health might also be diet related. I seem to be reacting to bread (or maybe it is in my head, I don't know), but I need to eat lots of bread before celiac blood test. The GP also included other things, I thought it would be good to get another opinion. Sometimes I feel like my regular GP brushes me off, it's not a great feeling. I saw a younger doctor, and found out that apparently GPs are meant to do screeners for people with digestive issues. I also had this symptom that I sort of brushed off, but probably should've spoken to a doctor about earlier, it might be nothing, but doesn't hurt to check out certain symptoms just in case.
I am going to get some support around diet and exercise, though it isn't cheap 😞 , but may save money in the long term. You also need to tread carefully with exercise for hypermobility.
I don't have much planned for today, probably will take it easy, will lean into my prayers, will have dinner, might listen to some music, a scalp massage will also be nice. My hair is in need for desperate support, might also highlight the need for dietary support

Hey @creative_writer do you want to talk about what's feeling overwhelming right now?

@Ru-bee I don’t even know, I just feel overwhelmed to do anything. Everything feels too much. Living is overwhelming

How would it be to just sit here for a bit @creative_writer I'm hearing that everything is overwhelming right now so maybe we can just be here for a bit without needing to do anything else
@Ru-bee my brain is wired into thinking it must always be doing something. I feel like sometimes I just need to breathe. I’m in physical discomfort right now, so forcing myself to be productive isn’t going to help. I’ve tried a grounding exercise

I was just sharing this with someone but you may be interested @creative_writer
@tyme thank you for sharing. I’ve identified as HSP for a very long time, I knew it was me straight away.
I’m struggling to get past this physical sick feeling. It’s making my mental health worse. Eating dinner has just made me feel more sick. Now I’m also having a body flashback

Re: Functioning with ADHD
I’ve tried so hard for so long to get better physically and mentally. I have felt stuck for so long, I just feel like there is something wrong physically, but people have often brushed it off. Maybe it’s in my head or maybe it’s not. I just don’t feel well physically. My chronic fatigue made it hard to complete my placement last year and I burnt out every week. I also worked from home once a week. I don’t think I can hold a 9-5 job, five days a week. But I feel like I’m meant to be able to handle it all. I’m still always exhausted and barely moving through it all, but it’s all I can do. Since I’m limited with what I can do, it’s hard not to let the rumination thoughts in

When will the rumination end, if only moving forward and leaving it all behind was easy. But it doesn’t work that way, intrusive thoughts pop up constantly
