Re: Help

Ive tried to fight these urges everyday for the past month or so and almost everyday is unsuccessful. I should be able to control it well so i thought but it seems that scissors seem ti be the only answer that works.

Yes and some of those people are family memberz who i thought would be supportive but obviously not

Re: Help

I struggled with it for months and drug abuse. It's a very hard cycle to stop. I actualy rather it then pills to be honest. I go a few months good and bang I have a stumble.

What I do and it may or may not work for you is when I get an urge to do it go is this a crazy urge or just an urge out of habbit. If I realised it was a habbit urge or small urge I would fight those ones. That started slowly giving me power against it. If I could say no to a small urge after a while I can say no to a slightly bigger urge and so on so on.

I would also remind myself the guilty feeling I would feel after doing it. I personally found that feeling would eat me up more then the urge to do it. I would also do the distractions they can be really helpful but sometimes no.

Sadly the closet people to us can be the worst. i don't get support by some of my family. When I had a miscarriage my father just yelled at me to snap out of it and get over it. I don't think he did it out of a mean heart I just think he's dumb. I think a lot of people are uneducated on mental health and just don't understand it or know how to treat people with it sadly.

Thats a good way to put it @Former-Member
the urge is always slighlty there it just gets stronger so maybe if i just keep fighting the small ones eventually i will be able to cope with the strong ones. Its like an addiction i cant stop but it seems to be the only thing that helps at the moment.
Yes seeing the scars and trying to hide it from people eats at me all the time.
I guess your right about the educatio however my mothet herself as well as my aunt has been through depression ao i thought they would have a little understanding but they dont have gad and ptsd mixed in with it so it was probably a little easier as they were only dealing with one specific thing rather than 3
