Re: Help

Yep, gotta distract when confeonted with bad thoughts or urges. GROUNDING exercises help me, they activate the five senses, get you out of ya head, like
- touch (squeeze IceCube till it melts, pat dog, massage feet, describe different things you touch near you)
- taste (suck a lemon)
- smell (perfume, incense)
- sight (bright colours, scan room for a colour, light & dark, garden)
- hearing (whar can you hear, describe it, maybe put put on ya best music)
You get the idea. xox

Re: Help

What do you think might help right now @Former-Member? Distractions, talking, something active, something soft and soothing?

Re: Help

No, F nt go there. Good ya have movie on and doing colouring in. Maybe also light some insence, oil burner for smell, eat something strong tasting like lemon. Grab and hold a small IceCube till it melts. Works for me. A nice calm shower is good too & put on your fav PJs. Maybe go for a walk later. Big hug xox

Re: Help

Remind your self how low you will feel after you self harm. Yes self harming is going to take that pain out of your body but then you will be stuck with another pain which eats at you for longer. That normally helps me.
