Something’s not right

Struggling… and crying….

Struggling… and crying….

Hi there,

just looking for a little company.
I’m new and finding my way here.
I find it very hard to feel like I belong anywhere.
@tyme, @AuntGlow @Shaz51 @NightFury would you like to chat with me a little here?

I feel so sad and stupid.
I’m probably going to mess up this post, but I’d just love some company.
I have two assignments to do, and am away from work for the moment because my current depressive episode got too much for me. Sometimes I’m able to feel like I made the right call about work because I wasn’t really helping anyone by being there (especially not myself), but the rest off the time I think I’m weak, incapable, incompetent, self-indulgent and lazy.
Yesterday was the best day I’ve had I in ages, and I was cherishing the feeling that I’d managed to connect a little here.

When I realised I’d have to try again I was so sad - I know, you can’t prevent it and you’ve got to grow and learn.

So this is my attempt to grow and learn and to try to connect.

I kinda feel like I don’t belong at Sane because my mental health issues aren’t serious enough. But life always feels like it’s a bit uphill even on my best days, and I have a lot of days that are far from best, and some genuinely bad ones.

I do really feel not good enough most of the time, and it makes me shrink, and disconnect (or be unable to connect in the first place).
I’m so blessed to have a family, but my struggles impact negatively on them - I was not a supportive or patient person this morning.

I’m a bit under slept this morning, but I need to make progress on my assignments. And also would love to “make progress” on “getting better”, but that might entail more of the ‘welcoming and /or accepting the feelings’, rather than actually feeling bouncier or happier than I do.

In real life I connected with a colleague who became a friend - they’re a mental health professional; I don’t know what I am … sometimes I felt therapeutic adjacent, which I know would make them laugh. But I feel like I’ve been too much for them and they’re getting some space (of course, it might have nothing to do with me … but that’s just me saying the right answer.) Makes total sense and simultaneously I feel heartbroken and bereft.

Thanks for listening. I’ve stepped crying now.
Please do let me know if I should edit this - I will straight away if needed.

I hope you all have started the day well and for those in warm places, I’ll say that it must have been below zero here - the house is chilly and I saw at least a glimpse of frost outside.

Warm wishes and thank you for listening.

Hi @Shaz51

My beautiful fur baby died just after Easter, I’m sorry to say.

He was a ‘fwuffy goggie’ (as one of the kids used to say) named Fred, and he looked like an overgrown Hairy McLairy.

I guess I’d better stop for this morning so I can get to the library and come back and update you on every. Single. Tiny. Bit of progress I make on school work.
(that’s either a joke or a threat - we’ll all find out which based how I actually do)

Thank you all for your time, encouragement and kindness.

I will make myself a cup of tea to take with me.

Re: Struggling… and crying….

@Semly thank you for the tag, I'd love to chat with you.

Firstly, I'm glad that you had a better day yesterday!

Secondly, I'm currently at work, so might not be able to reply again until later tonight, but I will get to it. Just tag me again and I'll get to it.

Work, study, life and mental health is tricky to balance and you're not alone in finding it difficult. I'm right there with you. I don't have any answers or strategies for doing it because what I'm trying isn't working either. But, I would like to say...how courageous of you to take the time away from work when you need it. It shows that you are invested in yourself and in your journey to recovery. I struggle to even take a "sick day," so well done for making yourself a priority.

It's far from warm here. I'm pretty sure we were below zero too. It certainly felt that way when I was walking to dog at 6.30 am.

@Semly

Sorry I couldn't reply to you. Our tv died the other day and the delivery man came with our new tv so we had to unpack it and set it up. Now I'm waiting for my 16yo daughter to come home from school to do all the programs set up. We switched it on and first thing we had to answer we don't know what to do.

as for the medication I can't go on the anticonvulsant as apparently it's too much of a risk with the Steven Johnson syndrome so even though it sounds like it would be a perfect medication for me I can't have it.

as for the case management I'm a bit disappointed. I had an appointment at 12 today but they rang me around 10 that apparently they changed my appt to yesterday and they wondered why I didn't show up. I told them I didn't receive any communication from them so she had a look and they realised that they rang the wrong number. So I now have an appt on Monday at 10am.

as for my day it was exciting getting our tv and I managed to vacuum the flat again I have also sat down and wrote a list of my symptoms so I know what I want to say to the dr on Monday. I have trouble communicating and my memory is shot so I need to have it all written down.

how did you go with your afternoon?

Hi 👋🏼 @Semly

How you doing?

@Shaz51 tagged me in her post.

I read that you had been crying a LOT.

Sleep deprivation?

That was me when I first arrived in Forumland. I would go 3 nights without sleep and was an emotional wreck.

I can’t seem to get enough sleep now. I want to sleep at every opportunity.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for all of us.

Re: Struggling… and crying….

@Shaz51 bed sounds great, but I also acknowledge that I'm not likely to sleep right now. Too much anxious energy. It has it's benefits though, in that I am tackling the study tonight with focus and vim and vigor.

Re: Struggling… and crying….

Morning all.

@Shaz51 I had a rough night with nightmares and waking up feeling panicky. I hate the feeling of not having anyone to reach out to in the middle of the night when that happens. But, I'm up and getting myself ready for work. It's Friday! So...last day of the teaching/working week and I'm excited to have a couple of quieter, gentler days at home over the weekend.

How are you?
