Something’s not right

Where do I start

Where do I start

I'm heart broken. My 16yo daughter sat me down last night and it wasn't pretty what she had to say.

she basically said I've given up on life, I stopped taking care of myself, I'm not talking, I'm depressed, she is embarrassed by me and that I desperately need therapy.

and the worst thing is that she is right. I have given up on life, I'm depressed eventhough I'm manic at the moment, I have no joy in my life, I'm isolated and I find it very hard to communicate.

im heartbroken that it has impacted on her so much I thought I was better at hiding it than I obviously am.

I have been depressed for years and my bipolar is very hard to control. The ECT helps somewhat but I don't want it anymore. I don't know what to do. I don't find therapy helpful. But I'll go if that's gonna make her happy.

Hello and thank you for your kind response.

It was mean't as a compliment, and I'm sorry if it didn't sound that way.

That's okay @lillylavander tone and meaning can sometimes get a bit lost in written form, that's why I just wanted to clarify. Honestly I myself have been mistaken for AI on here before because I responded very promptly, and I was pretty flattered 😄

Re: Where do I start

So I saw my mental health gp today and he has added a medication to all the pills I'm already taking. Here is hoping it works.

Ok here is a spammer into the works.
the new medication can cause Steven Johnson syndrome which can be fatal. I have had Steven Johnson syndrome previously with a different yet similar medication which landed me in hospital. Do I risk it?

Oh, that’s tricky @snowflake231. I have no idea what that is. Is there any way you can re-check by email or a call to reception at your gp practice? That’s so complicating to have that worry following on from the apparent positive of a new med that might help improve things. How are you going?

So I looked it up, and that possibility would worry me, too. I wonder if your new med is in a family with / related to the other med that caused that reaction for you?
