Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

❤️ The at-computer meme @Former-Member .... 😊

What a shame @Former-Member ..... but maybe a clipped dog will entice you to revisit that spot more regularly .....

Well .... I'm

Up .....✅
Dressed ..... ✅
Bed made ......
Walk to coffee shop ..... ✅
Breakfast ....
Coffee .....
Walk home ....

WH and S2 taking off over east today .... throws the girls and I into our alternate routine ..... respite.

My little dog had four feet, a belly and eyes under all that fluff and prickles @Faith-and-Hope 😄 He's a long haired breed and needs regular clipping, though I try to leave the main of his coat during the cooler months. I absolutely intend to go back to that spot, I think doing so will greatly improve my motorvation in clipping him - I can't bear to think he's uncomfortable 🙂

Well done getting up, dressed and walking to the coffee shop 🙂 Your one up on me, but I have clipped a dog 🙂

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Just wondering what stops everyone from achieving their daily goals. Struggling and battling in my head to get going today. Just getting angry at myself

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm the same today, @Former-Member. Yesterday and today I've spent a fair bit of time sleeping because I couldn't motivate myself to do anything much else. Not sure what stops me. But today it's dark and rainy where I am. That is part of it. Another part of it for me today is just that I'm probably still recovering from a stressful and much more active time than usual, during which my physical and mental health took a hit. But these may be just excuses. I get into moods where I just can't do anything. It's not all the time. But sometimes I've just got to ride out those days or hours or weeks (sometimes it's been months) when I'm like that. I think the main thing is not to get angry with ourselves. As I said to a friend on the phone today, let's at least be as kind to ourselves as we are to other people. Too often we beat ourselves up much harder than we would ever do to others. That's the best answer I can give at this moment to what you ask.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

My thoughts go out to you @Former-Member it must be hard to be struggling and battling. Try to refocus on a three step plan. Stuff that you usually do when feeling good. Try to turn things around.

What stops me from achieving my daily goals. No motivation. Feeling drained and fatigued. Overwhelmed with negative stuff in my head. What do i do about it. Refocus my prospective. And aim to achieve something small that gets me back on track and heading in the direction i want to go.

I resort to good traits and characteristics about myself. Others or the situation/scenario even if its all in the mind. And centralize around the here and now. And the physical world. Counteractiv meditation also helps me. And i find one thing to look forward too.

Hope that has helped. Hope you better soon.

Thanks @Mazarita. I think you are right. Once I put all that pressure on what I 'should do' I've lost lots of the battle. Like you I'm just feeling so tired. I'd love to curl up and sleep but I'm worried I won't sleep tonight then too. Thanks for your response.

Thanks @eudemonism

it helped to read what stops you. I think I wasn't even getting to why but you are right for this bit for what stops us

"No motivation. Feeling drained and fatigued. Overwhelmed with negative stuff in my head"

i am feeling drained and fatigued and going in circles with what needs to be done. I'm going to try to just choose one thing to achieve I think. Not sure what that is yet but I have about three things to choose from.

Cheers 🤗💜💐

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

That's my self-talk @Former-Member ..... "I can at least achieve one thing if I focus on only that .... and then I will go back to bed / eat something / go out / do a puzzle / have a coffee .... "

Adding the "then I will ...." is just as important to me as the choosing of one thing to do. Then, let's say I went back to be as my "then I will ...." thing, I choose something else to do with the next chunk of the day in the same pattern.

If I can get to a third round, then that's good ....

The deal is to keep moving forward. Going back to bed is not going backwards if it is my "then I will ...."thing, it's a time out, or plateau if you like. It's the thing I did ahead of going back to bed that was the forward movement part, with another one or two of those anticipated for the day.

No negativity allowed .... ❣️

Hope this helps.
