Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

@Former-Member ..... lol .... one is sorting out her own lunch, one has a disability, but if someone tells her what to put together for lunch, then she can make her own .... the other one is really struggling with his situation at the moment, so without support he won't
eat anything .....

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

I just read an article about how making lists makes us more productive and happier (because of the evidence of what we HAVE done, rather than always focussing or being overwhelmed by what we haven't). I agree, especially when it comes to household tasks, which I struggle with more than anything usually. However, my MI (bipolar) doesn't always seem to leave room for even making lists at times. There have been many times throughout my life, most of my life really, when I haven't made lists. Lots of times when I have really just been 'getting through the day'. Other times when I have just been chaotic about what I'm doing. In any case, the article might be an interesting read for anyone who is interested to explore this more...

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Thanks @Mazarita ..... I find a three point list gets me going if I have one of those days where I just don't feel like doing anything.

Achieving three things is not a huge list, but enough to bring a sense of having had a day.

If you start listing the ordinary aspects of the day - which is why I start some days with "up" it is acknowledging the effort it has taken to do anything at all, even getting out of bed and starting the day .....

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hello Everyone, @Mazarita, @Faith-and-Hope, @Shaz51, @CheerBear, @Former-Member 🙂 I'm pretty happy with myself this evening, though unfortunately my brain feels a bit like it's going into it's regular de-grade - but I got some things done today 🙂

1. I not only washed the mountain of pots and pans, but everything beside the sink. As of right now, I don't think I've got a dirty dish, cup, piece of cutlery . . . anything kitchen!

2. I washed the dishes because I had extra hot water left over from having another (very necessary) bathing day. (My furry friends smell soooo much better now :))

3. I finally changed my young dogs bed over to some much larger cushions, complete with pillow, blanket, coat (which is actually a fleecy lined denim vest of mine) and hot water bottle cover.

4. I picked up the broom and swept the bedroom to change the young dog bed over, and even dust pan swept a bit in the lounge room.

5. Whilst I was in the bedroom I made the bed!

6. I put away the dishes I washed yesterday so I had room to wash the pots and things.

7. I brought in the washing that has been out on the line for a bit, and put it all away and even put away a basket of clean clothes that has been sitting in my room for yonks!

8. I turned the young dogs bed into a day bed for the little dog, in the lounge room by my feet and he's using it right now 🙂

P.S. You can use as much of my motorvation as you like Teej, I think I'm done with it for a while 😉

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Wow @Former-Member - well done! That's a big day 🙂

I posted yesterday morning I think about my goals to eat and to finish the crochet round.

So far I've had breakfast lunch and dinner each day. I have had no coffee after 2. And today I finished the crochet round so I'm feeling a bit proud of that all tonight 🙂

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

I used to do cleaning as a job @Shaz51 and admire your stamina! These days I don't do much of it at all, even at home. and I still haven't finished my lawn, but it shouldn't grow too much now that it's getting cooler 🙂
