Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Hi @Mazarita

I am hoping this will help you ....

Item no. 10 - Take the food you need for today, dry goods only, and set it out in groupings, maybe even plastic containers like lunch-boxes .... eg. breakfast cereal portion in one, tin of tuna and portion of dry biscuits in another, etc.

You can even stick a time on it with a piece of paper, if it suis you.

Then, when you take one to use it, add in the fridge things, like milk, or cheese, or whatever, in the moment.

With that done, and ready when needed, break the list up into 3 lists of 3 items only, and only look at one list at a time. Use a highlighter to mark them off as achievements when completed.

❤️

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope

I'm already breakfasted and medicated (round one of three). Dressed. Bed made. The rest of the day will be light eating, probably sandwich with tuna and mayo, might do another green smoothie, and will snack on other goodies in stock as day proceeds. They are all easy for me to whip out when needed. I'm not going to do much in the way of cleaning until after support worker visit/beach walk so I can wake up properly from my usual morning grogginess and just take a little easy before getting into it all. I need to pace myself well. I think I'll focus on the cleaning stuff this afternoon and do the moving this evening. 🙂

Sounds like you're well on your way @Mazarita .... well done .... ❣

Just kicking my butt out the door for a walk.

Have to shower when I get back .... have been wet-wipe-washing for a couple of days .... and go pick up MIL to take her to D1's house for her first visit since they moved there .... D1 has invited her MIL too, quite deliberately .... and the two MIL's are a bit prickly with each other .... but it's my MIL who needs to settle .... they are both territorial .... lol ....

Wish me luck .... 😏💕

@Faith-and-Hope, good luck! I laughed when you said wet-wipe washing because that's what I'm about to do!. Shower later after getting sweaty over my duties this afternoon and evening. Just had a call from support worker. Times got mixed up so we are rescheduling our get-together until next Wednesday. That's good because I could do with conserving energy for the urgent things today. Will just go out for a little walk to the corner shop for milk soon.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@Mazarita

I try to shorten my walk rather than ditch it when the day gets really busy .... works most of the time .... lol ....

Revisiting this toe after walking to the coffee shop .... think it is fractured .... ow,ow,ow ..... so that will be making my walks short ones for now, and probably better with thongs .....
last time it was a clean break, which is probably why I can still walk on it where last time it was crutches .....

Well there is a little bit more excitement I was really in need of ..... not ..... 🎖

@Faith-and-Hope, shame about the toe when it seemed like it was going to be okay yesterday. Take it easy on your feet now.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

I will ... wore flat shoes yesterday when I prefer a bit of a heel - helps with hyper mobility by shortening the range of movement .... but I can tell flats are gonna be de-rigueur for a while now ....

Oh well .....😏 .... things could have been worse ....

Progress report: have been to the shops for milk. Have vacuumed three rooms pretty thoroughly. Back cramps from bending over while vacuuming so taking a break here on the forum. Just for good measure, I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself in between jobs, lol. After maybe a bit of chat here (if anyone is around), next up is second round of meds and finish vacuuming.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi everyone - seems like there's been lots going on all around! Sorry to hear about your toe @Faith-and-Hope. Sounds painful!

Did you get your smoothie @Mazarita? On my wander around yesterday I saw a smoothie that sounded like the one you were talking about the other day. It had cucumber, apple, spinach etc. I really wanted to try it because one of my little goals was to try something new again but I chose a sugar cane drink because it sounded so different. It was absolutely delicious and I was so intrigued watching it get made.

Today my only goal was to get to an appointment and do some paperwork. It was a struggle but I got there. Now the plan is to try and enjoy the afternoon with the little people when they get home. It's a special day today so we have pancakes for a treat dinner (they're super excited).

Hope everyone's afternoon is kind to them
