Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Yeah @Former-Member .... I would empty the mess out of your room as is .... then worry about putting it back in in better order, which should be much easier .....

Worry about that after some of the assignment is achieved.

Can S1 sort the bulk of the Centrelink stuff for S4 ?

hello @Former-Member @TAB @Faith-and-Hope @Appleblossom @Former-Member

@mohill I promise I was only going to make my son's bed once. He's been overseas for 13 months and got back today so I thought I'd better make a bed for him. It's been really nice to see your spirits lifted today. It is good when we can see the lighter side of things. Sometimes we find it when we least expect it

humour is my saving grace, i truly believe it is why i am still here

i can laugh at myself not about myself learnt all about that one

i also have persistence as one of my characteristics so fuelled by humour I persist

I am also aware that unless I do I will not be here

I need to be here for so many people and today I am telling myself for me as well

love picture of Queenie yes relate well to Black Adder, The Young Ones, Black Books, Monty Python, & much more cant think of at moment

Lisa Jane not sure where you are hiding you certainly arent in my hiding spot over here with me. are you still looking for motivation and hope? Today I am looking for.............self respect I think I will try today

How are the goals everyone, I failed yesterday re horrid shops, passed today there and back now. am loving those do it self machines where i dont have to face some "how is your day today or what have you done today then at the end have a nice day" all said without once looking at me. Business mentality I know, even so when I was at school and worked part-time in the local european delicatessan I always looked at people in the eyes, gave a smile and a quiet thank you. I was very self-conscious.

So today I achieved the horrid shopping

tomorrow have psychologist coming to talk to husband & self so need to stay calm so that I can get across what I need to say. psychiatrist appointment in morning where i will sit and talk about rubbish which he is expecting anyway. he has to keep me pacified whilst waiting for room at the inn.

sorry about length well you probably see a lengthy post and think without looking yes mohill is about today!

good luck all with challenges

Oh dear @Former-Member, you do sound overwhelmed. That petrol drive off - gosh - you're definitely distracted, Are you putting any extra stress management skills into play?
One thing I do is make lists, before going to sleep, kinda makes me feel in control or something and eliminates the worry about forgetting then.

Sorry but had a little chuckle with what you said "the world is throwing lemons and I'm out of sugar to make lemonade 😲." haha you still have your sense of humour. Stay strong, deep breaths xox

Hiya @Former-Member, did you say your son is home from long trip away? do you get on? Is he different? My some initiated a tx this am, positive, nice.
Glad u have a good sense of humour - keeps me going too at times.
Yep, some of our Mr Motivalions have gone missing it seems - I think mine took my adrenal glands too. Do you think 'self respect' had the power to draw them back home? Maybe give it a try then. Start with a good long shower.
Goodness, how can someone get so lost in autopilot, so 'mechanical' that they say hi how are you with no eye contact or interest in reply? Must think of something 'smart' to say one day - wake em up lol.
Hope the psychologist apt goes well. Did you say they're coming to your home? wow. Don't worry about psychiatrist, I find they are just a 'formality' to manage pills. I think ya betta off getting 'counselling' witj psychogosts.
Good luck with these priorities today.

MY TODAY is back to basic first base disciplines (gettin pretty sick of that but what choice do we have when all feels lost). Got psychologist apt 1130 so that will get me showered at least. Kind of dread it actually as haven't seen her 2months and the hour is never enough, - feels like i just warm up & i gotta go before touching 'real' issues - but guess its something. Learned a lot of skills but sttughle with motivation, spirit, purpose. t
To get motvated to practise enough lol
So, gotta press on.
So that's it for me today
- shower and
- psych apt
- pick up dog food etc
- stay away from op shop
- catch up on bible study, maybe
- get sewing machine out, maybe
- clean up

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

hello @Former-Member @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @TAB

sorry Tawney I managed to confuse you and probably others as well. In fact at the moment everytime I open my mouth I confuse myself.

Son returning from overseas was meant to read as copy and pasted from Teej. He is her son. At least I dont think he is coming here to stay is he Teej?

did you manage to make that lemonade?

Tawney I get the only an hour appointment after 2 months is just enough time to deal with the hello, how are you, what has been happening in your life?.... brain blocks even though you might have rehearsed too many times what you had to say.

I dont do well with psychologists because of the time frame in between visits, I work better with psychiatrist and psychotherapy style as you can imagine with my going on and on and on.

I also tell him if I am stuck and I think that he is stuck too and doesnt know what to do with me.

He said today again about being in "holding bay". I replied that I am not really in the real world at the moment but spending time on here reading others thoughts is very helpful. Responding helps me as well as writing about my own thoughts.

He agrees, he sees it as a very good thing.

So your action list today is quite long when you look at it and the appointment itself, getting ready, getting there, tension, having the session, leaving, trying to readjust to reality again and then getting home takes up so much energy.

stay away from op shop, why? if you like going there.

I have to find a 1920's dress for my cousin's daughter's 30th in June. Only found out about it this morning. Tie a ribbon around my head. Gosh that is creative!!

Teej I hope that you are delegating everything and relaxing.

Faith I know that you would be delegating, hope that you are relaxing and having some well earned "me time". something I get far too much of now makes me laugh when i think back when the boys were younger and didnt have much me time.

Tab, I hope you have managed to find some relief with your back and are looking after yourself. Dont forget to stretch says she who needs to get off the computer and do same.

I will congratulate you in advance for achieving your goals today.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Backs like a new one today @Former-Member after pills creams massage all day yest. Just no work to go with it lol. Another guy had to leave and my supervisor claimed he lost half his jobs. Funny, my name wasn't on sign on sheet this morning, but no mention til guy came and told me. Okay I didn't have that much to do. Paranoid or no? Or just don't think about it.. today. Am home now

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Glad ya home @TAB, pitty they weren't honest with you what happened, hate that, try not to get down about it. Keep some $ aside. poohoo! Feel for you

@Former-Member, good to see more of you, thought for a min both u & @Former-Member had sons overseas lol (rarely keep up here haha). Hope u find a 1920s thing, Perl's, stockings, hats & dropped waist dresses, some op shops specialise in 'vintage' My psych went OK I think - really blurted out some crap - bottom line - the choice is mine. But she does want me to challenge negative thoughts. Grr, obviously!!! That's why I'm there, not that easy. Oh well, she tried. Having an existential crisis - self compassion is recommended, ho humm, but how? Not very pos.

VC visited today, always comments on my dogs weight, he's not too bad for a 15yo. She went on & on about www 'INFO WARS' talking over the top of me. Get a headache - but she's the only person who comes here, visits and she's a respectable person really. Should be grateful for her bothering at all - I know.

@Former-Member, you ok? Has 'Overwhelm' got out of the drivers seat yet? Sometimes 'Ditherer' or 'Muddled' clammer for the drivers seat here lately, but my Psych suggests today I remind them to get behind the yellow line - I'm driving this bus! Interesting way to see it I thought.

Think maybe my DAILY tasks might need to be a WEEKLY plans - so I can get them done, lol still haven't done my hair this last 2wks, yuk know you understand. Hope you're OK.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Yeah seems like a coincidence @Former-Member. I felt like guys who were working near me shut out after a few days, probably rushed and pulled at least one clanger, and day off and people probably made a few callls as in who is this guy, well there was history with supervisor through another company years ago, I ended up doing a runner there dunno seems possible my name was on black lists with them. I happened on supervisor just before leaving he came up to me shook my hand, apologised, patted me on upper arm, well face prob showed I was pissed off even tho glad to be out of there and couldnt see how I could have got through. Also a few people saw me not doing much at times, well cos couldn't get onto jobs cos other people working in area, ran out of things to do, spent hrs couple times waiting for generators that didn't work to get replaced etc.. Anyway .. no its 1am Im up, knees aching, wondering about compo for one hurt somewhere else a year ago, saw work dr, they signed it off, but never was xrayed and never been the same since .. who knows .. thanks for listening 😀

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

hello @TAB

Cowboy outfit?? is that the expression I have heard from somewhere??

more like Mickey Mouse club

hoping that something better and more deserving of your efforts comes your way soon

job providers, centrelink the whole system is warped and unmoving

job network providers should be ditched and returned to centrelink, staff there should be trained in how to help people look and find work.

Businesses should be paid an incentive to employ, help grow small business, local businesses.

The whole system smacks of the big boys at the top ticking boxes ... hmm dont get me started on that bandwagon.

apologies that is my vent for the day
