Just found out a friend's son was tragically taken from us yesterday. I won't put details here but it seems like it was a hit and run. I lost another friend a few years ago in similar circumstances.

I can either either way with strong emotions @creative_writer I either work, work, work or collapse in a heap. It seems I have done both of those today. Have taken a trip to Bunnings and the chemist though and at least got out of the house for a bit. Planning on going back to Bunnings as early as I can tomorrow with the trailer to avoid traffic and get up an about ...but that will depend on whether I get any sleep tonight.

This has all hit you very hard - naturally you feel tired and perhaps displaced.
People tell me to be kind to myself and do something nice - with your gardening and painting you are doing that for yourself which is good
The way you are feeling is not pleasant but natural - I know this well.

I know you know it well @Owlunar2 It is not a nice place to be but we do what we need to get through. I am about to head to Bunnings for some 'therapy'. Then out into the garden this afternoon for a while whilst the weather is okay.

It has @creative_writer a little bit. Went to Bunnings (my happy place) and my sister visited. Also painted some of my garden sleepers (until it got too dark). I will finish them in the morning then hopefully do some gardening. Tonight I need to do some work. I have not been able to do any this week but that is to be expected.

A bit harder to do slowly @creative_writer as I need to be ready for day 1 back on Monday. I was going to go into work Friday but forgot it is ANZAC day so no-one will be there ....going to make it a busier week next week to catch up.
