High functioning ASD

High functioning ASD

Hello everyone

Could not find a thread about high functioning ASD so I thought of starting a new thread

My husband's specialist thinks he has high functioning ASD but has not gone to get a proper diagnosis

As I have read some information, I can see it in my step children who has adhd

And I can see it in my husband

Re: High functioning ASD

I don’t know what else to suggest sorry. @Shaz51

If he won’t help himself and won’t comply to meds or get help I don’t know what you can do.

Re: High functioning ASD

Oh, that's so so tough... I am really sorry he is going through a hard time. It really does impact us when our loved ones are struggling, doesn't it? The aches and pains would make things that much more vulnerable. How are you able to care for yourself tonight? @Shaz51

And that's an easy mistake to make!! We are still always here (I have just been a bit busy with off-forums things tonight. I apologise!)

And I can see that @Shaz51 is definitely not upset with you, lovely. Big hugs to you both. @Captain24 💛

Re: High functioning ASD

Sorry things have been bad for you especially today by the sounds of it @Shaz51

Also the humid weather is probably not helping either of you.

I can empathise a bit with Mr Shaz as I am struggling with retirement. I have absolutely no one, well I suppose I have my GP, but I have no one at home, so I have to motivate myself. I think I have really tried pretty hard to do things. It's hard but I think what's the alternative. Sometimes I have done things in my life because I would think well it's better to try and fail, than to die wondering.

I am sorry that you have this currently difficult care's role on top of your own physical health problems. You are also on the forums helping other people. You are such an inspiration @Shaz51

Re: High functioning ASD

Been kinda by myself all day @AuntGlow , so I have been doing little bits to keep busy throughout the day

Very hot and humid here today and watered the garden this afternoon

So had leftover pizza for dinner, just watching outback truckers and then going to bed

Ha ha I texted all the kids and had chats with them 🤣

Just tired I think , thanks @AuntGlow
