Angry and alone

Angry and alone

Hi. I know I should write some sort of intro but just don't really know what there is to say.

I'm feeling angry and alone and like there's no one who cares.

Re: Angry and alone

I did eventually @Zoe7

Thanks @Former-Member and sorry to hear you had a similar experience yesterday. I finally managed the 2m to the sink and 3m to the shower, and sleeping is my greatest and only skill so here's hoping.

Hope you both have a good rest-of-the-night

Re: Angry and alone

Feeling ignored when angry never makes anything better, for the record.

But that's yesterday's news. I had to do a thing today with communicating, which is going to lead to someone coming here and more communicating. As someone who gets socially anxious about social stuff which includes communication about things that are not normal every day occurrences for me, the thing has me all offput and sideways.

Re: Angry and alone

I'm so sorry you felt ignored @TheVorticon. That sucks a lot. It doesn't make up for last night but I am hearing you and listening tonight.

I don't really know what it is like to feel anxious over social things in the way that I think you may mean you feel anxious, but I can understand how being anxious can make me feel a bit all over the place. I can imagine that feeling anxious with social stuff may lead to the social stuff being awkward or strained or difficult, which could mean even more anxiety, creating a pretty hard cycle?

When is this thing with someone coming there supposed to be happening? (If you can and want to say)

Re: Angry and alone

It's fine @CheerBear. I know that the way I feel and express myself can be triggering for a lot of people here and it makes sense to avoid triggering stuff. It's just hard because that's when I most need someone to just talk to a little bit, and it just builds up more when I can't find that. But whatever, that's my problem.

Well I don't feel 'normal' anxiety about this sort of stuff. It took me forever to realise that it was actually anxiety at all. Back when my psychologist at the time brought it up, I thought they had no clue what they were on about. Wasn't until a while after I'd stopped seeing them that I eventually realised what was going on.

It's not even proper social stuff. I've got to have some work done at my unit and need to get someone in to do it. Apparently organising that is beyond my capabilities, since I barely managed to resist the urge to dismantle my phone and put each part in a different room. And only then because I needed my phone for playing pokemon go.

Re: Angry and alone

I understand that it's you who is left with the feeling of being alone when you're trying to reach out @TheVorticon, and I can see why you'd feel like that's your problem. I think that as this is a whole community, it's important that we (as in, the whole community) look out for each other as much as we are able to. You've been able to clearly articulate that what you find supportive is to feel like you're not totally alone (not to mention the name of this thread is a indication itself of what might be supportive), and you've also clearly said that it's really unhelpful for you to reach out and find no-one. I think this is 'our' problem to an extent. I'm not sure if that's the right thing to say right now, but I do really feel for you here.

I think that it's pretty common for people, and I am guessing males probably even more than females, to have difficulty recognising anxiety and lots of mh stuff. It's good that you're able to identify what it is now, even if it took a while, because at least now you're in a better position to manage it than when you didn't or couldn't see it for what it is.

I kind of get what you're meaning now, with the social stuff. Is it that it's overwhelming to organise it all? I can definitely understand how that can feel. I am a total list person and find listing things (anything/everything), can really help when I'm experiencing big anxiety and struggling to think straight.

Also, I really can relate to some of the anger stuff you talk about and the effect it can have on you, like wanting to break things. Sometimes I have to fight hard to not break things. You resisted the urge not to though, even if you think it was 'barely' and that's important to recognise (and for what it's worth, I think Pokemon Go is a great reason not to dismantle your phone!). Breaking things sometimes can be very cathartic I find, though not when they're things I later regret (like the time my phone found itself flying across a room and into a wall).

Re: Angry and alone

Thanks @CheerBear. I don't really have words to reply to that, but I appreciate it.

I'm not usually a fan of lists unless I'm using it to remember something (cause it's just kind of a reminder of all the things that I've been avoiding lol). I dunno, it's not that I'm struggling to think straight about it. It's just the simple act of texting seems like such a ridiculously big deal that's too hard to deal with. I don't have articulated 'worries' about doing it, it just feels too blarrrrgh-nope-tastic. Not sure if that makes sense. And then the problem being I can suck it up and do the one text (which I did) but then that sets off a train of further forced interaction about it which just repeats the same problem every time.

They release new phones so often that 3 new models probably came out in the time between hand and wall. So you might have just been getting ahead of the planned obsolescence there.

Re: Angry and alone

You're so right about the phone @TheVorticon (and ypu just made me laugh).

What you're describing makes lots of sense.

I'm so close to being asleep and will be surprised if I am able to get to the end of this post. I hope.tomorrow is better for you, and this unit/social interaction is as painless as it can be.

Night thevorticon 😎

Re: Angry and alone

Hey @TheVorticon.

I have a new game which is a bit of a big deal because I have struggled a lot to move past the things the disappeared, including my games. I'm so glad I pushed myself out of my rut with this one because I'm having heaps of fun with it.

I was thinking about you while I was setting it all up (sooooo many updates and log ins and annoying account stuff that had to be redone) and looking for the game that might get me out of my bleghness, wondering whether you have any other games you play aside from Go?

I also saw that they're releasing a mini SNES later in the year with a whole heap of pre-loaded games, which I got really excited about and wondered whether you were too. I then remembered you were post-SNES and I am old, and therefore this probably doesn't excite you as much as me 😉

Anyway, really just coming past to say hi and hope your weekend is going along well.
