for those strange people who love rabbits

for those strange people who love rabbits

I love rabbits. all kinds of rabbits. they are a very misunderstood creature. they are sensitive yet stubborn. need social interaction with other bunnies and people. they are determined little souls and of course they are super cute.

This is a thread for rabbit lovers.

@Cuddlebear Yes i have also had 'state/mental health' counsellors but this turned out to be bitter experiences. That did much more harm than good.

@Bunniekins @MedicinalGypsy @Mustang67 @ENKELI

The counsellor i found is a trauma survivor turned psychologist who understands trauma and the way such is stored in our bodies/minds the trauma event. For not the act that brought us trauma is the problem, but where in our bodies/minds we stored that information overcome by the trauma of the event is where our issues lay.

So having a truly professional and sympathetic counsellor has helped me enormously opening up the Pandora box safely in my life, but at the same time has shown me that ultimately only trauma victims themselves can redo/undo the trauma. To be given the tools to do so, and to be taken seriously sympathetically opening up about it, is where i had most troubles. Me being an empath and a psychotic man has complicated matters enormously, but ultimately the exercises i do to unload the load of years of trauma are simple and anyone can learn them even without the support of a professional.

There are some reasonably good trauma counselling videos available on Youtube i saw last week. Are there any clear issue you are having that stop you from dealing with your trauma. E.g shame, guilt, fear or confusion instead of no money to pay a counsellor? For understanding our own body and how we go when trauma strikes and begin to operate out of our hurt instead of grounded thoughts and feelings, is where healing starts as well as finishes.

For the skills/tools i use every day helping me overcome my trauma responses are basic, simple and to the point. And have much more to do with understanding oneself and so learning to contain the trauma emotions as well as redirect the energy of the memories out of our heads so we are not overcome by them any longer. Hot/flaring emotions of rage, fear, sadness, guilt, shame, bitterness. unfairness, hopelessness, loneliness, frustrations and confusion are then avoided and so time can begin to heal the wounds instead of keeping them festering and open.

Thank you so much for sharing this. This is the next step I am taking, so I will have a listen to the Youtube video you suggested. And make the appointment that I keep avoiding to get the healing started ❤️

@Bunniekins Good to hear you are not psychotic, but as you say moments can slip by in just a few seconds, at least it is often like that with me.

@Cuddlebear @Mustang67 @ENKELI @REDLINEZ750

When i was kid, and did not know i was schizophrenic or understood my hallucinations, i thought they were my mind picturing films/realities through my fantasy but i could not understand how they effected my feeling world. For day dreaming went very different.

Anyhow i hated myself in my paranoid alter at the time for then i couldn't even watch any movie that had thrilling bits in it, just the music becoming scary would have me freak, while at other times i had none of those issues.

So i was going to FORCE myself not to be scared of spooky stuff any more. So one night when it was full moon. i very quietly climbed out of my bedroom window, just before midnight, for our bathroom and laundry roof was right underneath my second story bedroom window. And walked to the cemetery at the end of the block our home was on - about 250 meters away from my home, surrounded by tall trees and dense shrubs.

And there i sat at midnight on the bench disbelieving basically stiff from terror all the ghost and spooky stories i did not believe in. Luckily i did not have any issues with hallucinations that night but i still remember my heart beating loudly in my chest and any noise had me freak. But i did it! Although i did not overcome my paranoid alter, just more to freak next time i was in it.

You ever done that trying to prove your fears wrong? It has been the story of my childhood. Always trying to be braver than i was.

In the end though it did really help me a lot doing this kind of silly stuff. For i learned to keep my composure even freaking big time. Which was handy at school, or when i had to do something scary publicly. (Although once i got court out abseiling with a whole group of street kids, and i was in my paranoid alter, and did not dare to go down a short 3 meter drop. i was shaking violently all over trying to go down that rope, and everyone laughing me to scorn. Pretty crappy experience that was. For i love abseiling otherwise, and i hated people seeing me in what i termed myself to be the weasel, so embarrassing then. Glad i got over all that!
