Something’s not right

I am riding a wave.

I am riding a wave.

Hi,

My brain is flooded with giant feelings of hopelessness and I am riding a wave of suicidal ideation. I know it is just a wave and I know it will pass. I don't need any advice or suggestions...I just need someone to sit with me while I ride the wave. When my brain is this flooded pretty much ANYTHING that anyone says will further escalate the big feelings...but at the same time, it helps to know there is someone sitting with me. So...I'm just going to curl up in this corner of the forum and wait for someone to come and sit beside me while the wave crashes over me.

Re: I am riding a wave.

Did someone say something antisocial to you?

I was watching "Im a celebrity get me out of here" last night and although a lot of people are nasty to each other in there, the only thing that is 'real' (the reason why they're there) is for a holiday, a break from daily life, a bit of adventure, excitement, publicity... everything else that happens has almost no use at all...and is like a game. I personally would still be very nice but it has no bearings on why you are there in the first place.

So what I'm saying is look at what you personally want to do and get out of today... like if any of the things that affect you actually matter. I've ironed out my downs a lot from doing that.

@Former-Member Thank you. I'm glad to see you have donned a wetsuit and brought a snorkel with you...cos the waves are really big. At least the weather is hot - if you are going to sit amidst crashing waves, I guess it is better to do that on a warm day than on a chilly one

Re: I am riding a wave.

@Phoenix_Rising absolutley. Thank you for your consideration 🙂 Happy to be here with you and ride them together. When life throughs you a rainy day, jump in the puddles. Today's is a wave, lets go catch those waves and ride them back to shore when we can.

Re: I am riding a wave.

@Former-Member Yep. I'm not quite sure when we will make it to the shore, but I've learnt that when I am stuck in the giant waves, it is unhelpful to try getting to the shore - that just wastes energy. The trick is to be still and float...which can be VERY frustrating when you actually have stuff back at shore that you want to be working on. But alas, it is what it is. I will be away from my computer for a few hours so don't be concerned that I sank. I am dragging myself out of the house to do something that I know will make me feel better. Then when I get back, I am hoping to go and hang out with @CherryBomb and some others at the Friday Feast. That isn't too far away and I am hopeful that this might make the waves abate further. Thank you for riding with me. It SUPER helps to know there is someone right there beside me.

Thank you for letting me know @Phoenix_Rising

Happy to hang out out here, gives us time to practise our tricks

What a plan. I'm sure Friday Feast will be tops!

Thanks for keeping connected.

Also here with @Phoenix_Rising. Hope your time away from the computer helps.

Looking forward to hanging out @Phoenix_Rising - am cooking up a (virtual) feast as we speak!

Re: I am riding a wave.

@Former-Member Thank you for staying close by in this very rough ocean. You know what I noticed from your post? I'm pretty sure there are about fifty thousand words that trigger my big bad feelings, but I really noticed in my body that the words "we" and "together" made me feel much calmer. Yay for oxytocin So...thank you.

I have made it to shore now, albeit somewhat waterlogged. I'm going to go and find where @CherryBomb is cooking her feast. I can smell something cooking, I guess I'll just follow my nose. No one is going to mind if I wander into the feast in my swimming costume and looking slightly soggy are they?

Re: I am riding a wave.

...and I'm riding another wave. This is wearing extremely thin this week. I know how to keep myself alive but I'm just not entirely sure that I want to. I know how to hang in there, but I need a reason to do so. My brain is flooded - again, and I feel super alone. I so badly wish I had someone who I could just pick up the phone and call. But I don't, so I'm just going to sit here, let the waves crash over me, and know that there are people out there in forum-land this evening and thus I am not as utterly alone as I feel.
