Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Hello @heartathome sweet, it is worst case scenario that I'm faced with. It's not just me thinking it, it's what's going to happen. I've talked to my doctor and my counsellor and both know that there's just no options that we didn't already explore last year when faced with the same situation.

@MissGremlin just make sure you're taking care of yourself and not over extending yourself with needy people, negative situations and other things that are not important compared to your well-being. You are a kind person and I know you are always there for others who don't necessarily think about anyone but themselves. This is my observation only but I do worry about you as you are such a valued member of the forums and I hate to see you so stressed out. I hope the care you give out is returned to you like you deserve darling heart 💙 💜

Re: Battles

Hello @AlwaysMyself sweet, I'm sorry i haven't been able to comment on your post and offer support. I am here and I still care so much, I just don't have anything to give right now and i feel like the worst person for even just saying that.

They haven't given me any reason and they won't, there's major issues that haven't been fixed with this house and they are safety concerns. It's private rental and I was told I won't get government housing cos "I can afford private rental" even though I can't. I've been on the waitlist for over 15 years at category 2 with not one offer for a house.

I was faced with the same situation last year but not as much a price rise so I already know that there's no help available and this time I'll end up homeless.

Thankyou sweet ❤️.

How are you feeling today?

Re: Battles

@ENKELI this is exactly why yesterday I just shut off from everyone and everything, I simply had nothing to give and I felt horrible for doing so. I also wasn't in a good headspace so being here wasn't the right place to be (I'm safe).

I do try to help as many people as I can but I've very much been pouring from an empty cup.

I appreciate you so much sweetheart, you're always so kind, caring and understanding. Thankyou for being you and for your support. Sending you so much love and hugs beautiful ❤️.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin don't ever feel horrible or guilty for not being able to support people on the forums darling heart. You can't get blood from a stone and if your cup is empty you need to focus on you.

The situation you're going through is heavy duty, I don't know how I would be able to cope were I in the same situation.

If it's okay with you, I will ask my prayer circle to pray for you, as well as the Christians on this site. And I certainly hope the people you are always there for give you the same support.

Are you able to find another place that is cheaper? Or a room mate? I know these options aren't necessarily viable for you and I know I wouldn't want to live with someone I don't know.

Let me know what you want as an outcome honey and I will give focussed prayer for you.

Re: Battles

@ENKELI it's tough for me to not support others though as usually that's what fills my cup but this darkness has taken me down so far that trying to find any light feels impossible.

The situation is scary and there's so much at stake here.

I would really like that sweetheart and it's ok with me, thankyou ❤️. The majority of people here both give and receive support. I understand that some people simply don't have the capacity to support others which is ok.

There is nothing cheaper sadly and I'd much rather not have to move given that I've been here for 10 years. I wish I could explain more about my situation but I can't. But having a housemate isn't an option as it wouldn't be safe and there's no room either.

I'm really hoping that I can somehow get them to realise that I can't afford to pay more rent and hoping they can show compassion in not wanting to see us homeless.

I've been really lucky to find a couple of mental health groups on Facebook where I can talk to people aswell as having the community here.

I love both of those quotes, thankyou sweet ❤️.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I will pray for you to be successful in getting the rent to remain the same or if they really have to increase it, it's only a small amount.

Like you I wouldn't want to have a stranger in my space. I have a 4x2 house with just my brother and I but there is no way I could have another person living with us. I am so lucky that I am now mortgage free but some years it was really tough and there was one point when the bank wanted me to "quit the premises" because I was behind with payments. I was very lucky that I had support and now it's mine outright. Now I have to spend money on repairs that were not done while I was living elsewhere to support my ex friend.

Please keep me updated on the progress. Are you eligible for rent assistance from Centrelink?

xoxo

Re: Battles

@ENKELI thankyou sweetheart ❤️.

Having been through many DV relationships, i definitely don't want anyone else in my space. I'm so glad it's just you and your brother and that you were able to pay off your mortgage, well done sweet. It sucks having to spend money on repairs but hopefully once it's all done you can relax and just enjoy your home ☺️.

I will do sweet. I am and I get the maximum amount already.

@Jynx i do like that idea of trying to switch things up and it's definitely food for thought. It's just a matter of motivation and also the anxiety barrier when it comes to trying things. I'll see what I can come up with for things to do within my safety zone (being at home) and see how we go. I brought some things many years ago that I started but never finished so maybe I'll see if I can give them a try.

Even that right there felt like a little shift, just the fact that my brain didn't straight away shut down and say nope, can't do that, not even going to try. Very much stuck in that in-between space of 'things can't change, it's impossible ' and 'I want things to change, I don't want to feel like this'. Majority of the time I sit in that first space and just give up and accept defeat but every now and then that second space kicks in and I try to find ways to feel ok or just different. Ugh it's honestly exhausting and frustrating, I want to live for a reason not just exist without purpose. Just in case it's needed again, I'm safe.

Thankyou for those hugs, I'm truly grateful for you and the whole community here ❤️.

Hope you have a good night ❤️

Oh yay @MissGremlin it really warms me to read that you noticed a shift! Those little things count for so much hey. Recovery for me has been a whole LOT of little things which have added up to Big Growth.

How are things? Any other shifts, little glimmers, or something you're looking forward to? 💜
