Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Sorry to read you had a rough one last night @MissGremlin - it's so hard to be let down by a service, because there's such a power imbalance - like for you it feels like a personal rejection, like being chucked in the 'too hard basket' but for the service it's probably just a policy thing or something, so it's completely impersonal. So we can logically say 'it's not about me as a person', but the hurt is still there.

I think it's important to try to nurture and value ourselves in those moments, find ways to remind ourselves of our worth and that we are deserving of care and support.

Glad to see you and @NightFury planning a Lego sesh, yeah? Cuties! 😍

Also NF dear I am slowly making my way through notifications after having to do a bunch behind the scenes, so your thread is still a few tabs away haha but it really moved me to read, bless your heart 💜

Re: Battles

I'm home @MissGremlin I think I might go with a cold one because it's still 30 degrees here.

I might try some of this stuff...

Yes, we're working on a lego build @Jynx

No rush, you'll get to it when you can.

Urgh! 39 is hot and icky, so an iced coffee sounds amazing! @MissGremlin

Re: Battles

@Jynx it was a very rough one last night. You summed it up perfectly right there. Like even though she explained that they aren't allowed to offer phone appointments cos of their funding, it still hurts that I can't get support from them.

I do struggle to remind myself of my worth and at times I definitely don't feel like I'm deserving of care and support.

It wouldn't be so bad if this was a once off thing, being let down. But the fact the it's happening every single time I try to get help, that's where it becomes really disheartening and the rejection hits hard.

I never heard back from the other person today, which makes me worry that they either forgot or weren't able to find anyone that is suitable.

Hehe yes @NightFury and I definitely need to do some more of our Lego, but there's no rush, we are taking our time 😊

Re: Battles

@NightFuryit really is hot and icky. My iced coffee is disappearing fast, I forgot to get some glasses with no holes in them when I went to the shops 😂

Re: Battles

Oh no! You forgot those glasses at the shops! @MissGremlin

We can do some Lego tonight if you're up for it?

Also, can I ask a favour?

Re: Battles

7.30 pm sounds good to me. I'll be here @MissGremlin

I need someone to give me a gentle hassle tomorrow. I got one of my jobs done today (paid my licence for another year) but I'm avoiding sorting out Luna's registration. I've been avoiding it for weeks, because I don't know if I have her microchip number. I need to search for her microchip number within my paper work stuff and if I can't find it, I need to ring a vet to see if they can scan her for the number.
