Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

@AuntGlow i did a little bit of colouring, listened to music for a while then watched Angel and Buffy until I could go to sleep.

I had a phone appointment with my counsellor today.

Buffy and Angel are such classics, I love comfort TV shows. 🥰 @MissGremlin

How was your appointment?

Re: Battles

@AuntGlow I'll reply tomorrow, I can't right now, it's too much. (I'm safe). I'm just exhausted and everything feels heavy. I have so many tears, I'm cuddled up with Casper and I'm going to try to sleep.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin hope you fall asleep quickly and deeply, and feel even a margin better in the morning. I have just laid down in bed too, one dog at my feet.

I'm not sure how long I will be off work for. Current idea is to commit to 12 months off work to be able to recover from burnout and then reengage with activities and try to find something other than chronic anhedonia.

Hello @NightFury, thankyou for checking in. Sorry I'm so late to reply I'm so out of it today and I'm just not myself 😞. (I'm safe).

How's your day been?

Re: Battles

Hello @rav3n, thankyou❤️.

It really has been such an exhausting time and I'm struggling so much. When I spoke to my counsellor yesterday I said to her that my mental health has never been this bad. I'd say that I feel like I'm at rock bottom but things are still spiralling for me. I've been so out of it today and I'm really not feeling myself (I'm safe). Even talking to my counsellor i cried for most of the call just trying to talk about how bad things have been. As I said to her if I could to to hospital to get help i would but it's not an option cos I have Casper, my bird and my snake and I have noone to help with them. Anyway I'm safe for the moment and I keep trying to do little bits of my colouring or diamond art to keep busy.

Thankyou for the hugs and I'm really grateful to have the community here.

Good to hear from you @MissGremlin no need to apologise at all.

I thought I'd share...

One of the kids in my class gave me this all wrapped up today and I love it!

Re: Battles

It was the perfect Christmas present and I love that it came from a student @MissGremlin it gave me a big laugh.

That and...

When I took Luna for a walk this morning, there was a car parked at the local IGA and in the car were two dogs. They started barking madly at Luna and one of the dogs jumped over onto the front seat, put it's paws on the steering wheel and every time it barked, it bounced and pressed the car horn.
