Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

@AuntGlow imagining a world where I'm not hurt or abused in any way. Not even i can imagine that one 😞.

Ok i need to get myself out of this space.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin It sounds like feeling safe would mean so much to you right now. Know that you deserve to feel safe... so let's work towards getting you to a place where that feels more possible, okay?

Are you in a room that feels safe at the moment, and if not, can you move to one? 💛

Re: Battles

@AuntGlow feeling safe doesn't exist in my world 😞

I'm sitting on my bed with my oodie dressing gown on and my weighted blanket on me, i have my colouring in front of me but I can't even pick up a pencil.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin Your oodie and weighted blanket are great starts - you don't need to start colouring just yet. What would be an even easier action to take right now? For example, giving your hands a shake out or your neck a roll from side to side, as you deepen your breath.

Re: Battles

@AuntGlow i had to reach out to lifeline as things started happening and I'm not in control.

I'm doing something I don't normally do, I'm closing my eyes and just trying to shut everything out, but things are getting louder. Trying to get some deep breaths in but it's just very shallow and fast breaths at the moment.

Re: Battles

Okay @MissGremlin, are you on the phone to Lifeline now for more support?

It sounds like things are very intense for you at the moment... I know it sounds silly, but do you feel comfortable standing up and shaking out your whole entire body? And as you do, imagine all of the anxiety and agitation you are feeling being released as you shake? You can stomp and vocalise - the goal is to discharge the fight/flight response. Let me know if you can try this, and maybe imagine me there doing it with you! 💛

Re: Battles

@AuntGlow i was on chat but ended it cos it wasn't helping, person was dismissive of everything I told them.

It's getting too much for me to manage alone. I can't stand up but I shook my arms out and i screamed into my pillow but it hasn't helped. I'm sorry. No wonder noone ever wants to put up with me, I'm too much for myself to deal with so I cant expect anyone else to have to.
