Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@NightFury ahh yes kids going back to school after the weekend can get a bit hectic, home life-school life is different. Hopefully the kids are well behaved for you today. You are doing year 5/6 kids at the moment by memory?

I hope you phone appointment goes ok for you.

I have my doctors appointment today and i need to reschedule the house inspection but making that phone call isn't easy cos the landlord likes to abuse me for having to change it.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin it's a difficult school to teach in. The kids are lower socio-economic. We educate them, feed them, and help them to manage their big behaviours. It's not fun when you become the target of those behaviours and when they lash out at you because they're dysregulated. We get paid a hard to staff allowance for a reason. And yes, teaching Grade 5/6.

I wish you well with both of those things. Good luck with the phone call, it sounds like it could be an unknown situation for you - as in you're not sure how the landlord will react. So, I have my finger's crossed that it goes well and they surprise you.

Re: Battles

@NightFury oh that does sound quite challenging. It sounds like you do such an amazing thing for them though. But yes it would be hard when they are dysregulated and they lash out. Year 5/6 are at that tough age too, pre-teen so learning to manage some really big emotions and changes.

It's definitely always an unknown situation, sometimes she can be nice and understanding, other times the second she speaks it's something nasty and results in me being left in tears.

Re: Battles

Well @MissGremlin I am at work now, but I really do wish you luck with it all.

I am feeling really super anxious, to the point of feeling sick and doing some deep breathing to help regulate. I'll be okay though.

Chat later.

I had a doctors appointment today and i was able to take Casper with me. He was such a good boy and spent the appointment laying at my feet after he got pats from my doctor of course 😊.

It really helped to have him with me, my anxiety was high but nowhere near as bad as it has been previously when I've had to go there.
