Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin no worries, happy to lend an ear, I'm sorry to hear things haven't eased off

Re: Battles

Thanks @Former-Member, sorry was feeling a little uncomfortable in that other thread for some reason.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin that's 100% fine with me, as long as you feel comfortable and like you're in a safe space

Re: Battles

@Former-Member that's a complicated situation in itself. I'm kind of being watched here which is also why I'm cautious of interacting with new people. So I have to be careful of what I say which from what I read briefly yesterday on some of your posts sounds like something you are also wary of.

Re: Battles

Hello @MissGremlin, as you may know, I am new to the forums and this thread, so I would really love to know more about you and how I can support you as well. What helps you to feel the most safe and nurtured? 💖

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin yeah I'm rather cautious about oversharing, and I'll go back within 24 hrs and edit out anything I'm not keen on. I'm spewing there aren't private thread options

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin you just jogged my memory about editing some replies I made in my other post.

Re: Battles

ohhh i hear you, it sucks that those thoughts and urges are increasing @MissGremlin happy to provide some distraction chats!!

but also, i do wanna remind you that if those urges get strong and you feel unsafe, please don't hesitate to call 000. you deserve to be supported 💙

okay i've got 2 questions for ya:

- if you had a sensory toolkit, what things would you pack in there (imagine there's infinite space in the toolkit)?

- what's some weird/funny/interesting facts?

i'll go first, marshmallows originated from Ancient Egypt and it was considered a 'luxury' to eat them, so only the Pharaohs and gods were allowed to have them.

Re: Battles

@rav3nCan I answer the first question too?

Salty, crunchy foods, A weighted blanket, a body pillow to curl up with and cuddle, fidgets of all different kinds, my anxiety ring, those little…they’re rings that hugs tight and provide pressure and many many Needoh ice cubes (my go to, in fact I have one in my hands right now) a set of noise cancelling head phones and my dog.

Re: Battles

@rav3n thanks and I know.

Ok my brain is fried trying to think of things to put in a sensory toolkit.

But facts, ummm.

All the world’s bacteria stacked on top of each other would stretch for 10 billion light-years.

Ants don’t have lungs. They instead breathe through spiracles, nine or ten tiny openings, depending on the species.
