Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Sounds scary hun, what do you think would help you figure it out?

Re: Battles

@Jynx I'm just not feeling right, I'd call 000 in this instance usually but kind of hard when I have a puppy that's not able to be left alone.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin crisis line next best thing hun? Pls remember that your puppy will be okay alone for a little while if 100% needed.

Re: Battles

@Jynx this feeling isn't to do with my mental health so no crisis line needed.

I had a lay down today and was only asleep for 30 minutes but since I woke up at 1.30 I've been feeling off, I'm dizzy and keep almost passing out, my heart rate is high not not ridiculously high it's only been sitting in the 120-130bpm, i keep getting sweaty from only doing small things like just walking from one room to another, i checked my temperature but it's low 35.5⁰. Just trying to take it easy and rest but not liking the feelings. And yes I've eaten and had enough to drink today so that's not the cause.

@MissGremlin it's a little worrying to hear that, are you sure you ought to be on the forums at the moment? We can't do much if you need medical attention hun. Please look after yourself!!

Re: Battles

@Jynx being on here means less time for me to be stressing about how I'm feeling. Don't expect anyone to be able to do anything.

Just trying to keep myself distracted really.

Re: Battles

I understand the dog dying problem @MissGremlin I will put my old boy down in the next two weeks. It's so hard to know if you are making the right decision. I don't want him to be in pain or not to be able to do things. He is completely deaf and almost completely blind, has heart failure and Cushing's disease and arthritis. He is finding steps (even 2) difficult now. I asked my uncle to make a ramp for him for the outside steps about a year ago which has been very helpful. He can't walk far now, but still wants to go outside so I crry him down the front steps. He still loves his food though. He sometimes has near faints due to heart failure and sometimes is unsteady on his feet. So I think it's time.

My dogs have been very important for my MH, so it will be hard to make the decision and hard afterwards as there'll be one less reason

Re: Battles

@Till23 yes it's so hard making that decision. All of my dogs have been real fighters and extremely bonded to me so I've had to make that choice which was always far from easy but even more so when the dog is only 3 years old. Your boy has truly had the best life with you and you have done everything possible to make sure he is comfortable and can still do the things he loves. Knowing that it's time doesn't make it any easier but it's a matter of trying to treasure the memories you have had together over the years.

I hear you when it comes to how much they help with MH, mine deteriorated so badly when I lost my one last year. Is there the option of getting another dog for you later on down the track?

Re: Battles

Yes @MissGremlin it is my intention to get another dog, probably in a couple of years.

I need to move from where I am, so I will wait until I have moved and settled, before getting another dog.

Re: Battles

@Till23 I'm glad thats something to consider in the future. But for now just focus on your boy and spending as much time as possible with him.

And know that we are always here for you ❤️
