Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Hello @Nala2022 sweet, things have been really tough since being sent home from hospital. My wrist is so sore and I'm not sure whether to lodge a complaint to the place or not, the doctor that did the blood test didn't have the baindaid thing ready for after she'd done the needle so she proceeded with it still in my wrist to open it, pushing it further and further into my wrist until she hit the bone. It's so badly bruised all the way down to my thumb and it hurts alot 😞.

I've had migraines everyday for the last week with the nausea to go with them and keep getting headspins. Initially I thought that maybe it's just things coming out of my system but now I'm not sure, it's alot to try to manage especially when nothing helps (I'm safe).

Casper is doing well, he was very excited for his breakfast. It's cold and wet here today too, my kind of weather 😂. I've got nowhere to go so it's a day at home, just hoping I can actually do my diamond art or something to keep myself busy.

How are you doing sweet?

Re: Battles

I’m sorry things have been so tough since coming home from hospital @MissGremlin

That sounds awful with your wrist, and I can understand why you’d be wondering whether to make a complaint, particularly when you’re still in so much pain and it’s so badly bruised. Maybe take photos for documentation, just in case you do decide to make a complaint.

I'm also sorry that you're dealing with migraines, nausea and headspins on top of everything else 😔

Hopefully you can have a quiet day at home today and get into some diamond art if you’re feeling up to it 😊

I’m glad Casper is doing well! He sounds like he was very happy about his breakfast. And cold and wet is definitely good weather for staying cosy at home haha

I’m doing well thank you. I’m enjoying a nice slow morning today, which has been lovely 💛

@Nala2022 I've been taking photos of it, it just keeps getting worse everyday. The worst part is that it's exactly where my fitbit sits, I tried to wear it in my other wrist but it just doesn't feel right and drives me nuts 😂.

Things just don't stop and it makes it so much harder to keep pushing through mentally when you're feeling so crap physically aswell.

I hope i can, I've not been able to do any of my usual things to help regulate as the nausea gets so bad that I can't do anything but lay down. As you can imagine just laying there not being able to do anything only increases the suicidal ideation (I'm safe). I'm a person that needs to keep busy if I'm going to have any shot at keeping those thoughts quiet.

He's a labrador, food is life 😂. He also doesn't mind the reason, he just stands outside in it so when he comes inside i give him a quick dry off which then sends him into zoomie mode 😂.

Glad to hear had you're doing well and have a slow morning, you definitely deserve it ❤️

Re: Battles

Oh no @MissGremlin, I'm sorry it's getting worse 😔. I can imagine how frustrating it would be having it right where your Fitbit normally sits though haha

It makes sense that things feel even harder mentally when you’re already feeling so physically awful and can’t do the things that usually help you regulate. I’m glad you’re safe, but please don’t feel like you have to manage those thoughts on your own. If they start getting harder to keep quiet, please reach out to someone you trust or Lifeline on 13 11 14 for some extra support 💛

Casper sounds like a very typical Labrador lol. I can just picture the zoomies after being dried off 😂

Thank you, I’m definitely enjoying the slow morning while I can! 💛

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 don't think I'll ever have another blood test on my wrist, I thought the IV's in the top of the hand were bad but I'd take them over this 😂. I'm used to being a human pin-cushion when I go to hospital as need multiple lines with different things going in all at once, then my veins collapse after a while and I end up needing more in, it's such great fun 😂.

I usually end up reaching out to Lifeline a couple of times a day, it's been less lately which has been good i guess. I try to not rely on it too much but I know they're there if I need them.

He's such a character and he's always making me laugh. I'll be sitting doing my diamond art or even just sitting and watching a movie and he'll come and throw a toy at me and then stare at me until I throw it, and of course it has to be the noisiest toy possible 😂.

Those slow days are so nice, just being able to take things one step at a time and not having any pressure on you. Plus the cold and wet weather makes for perfect cosy time with pets snuggled up with us ❤️.

Re: Battles

After everything you’ve been through with needles and IVs, I don’t blame you!

I’m glad you’ve been reaching out to Lifeline when you need to, and it’s good to hear you’ve needed them a little less lately. Having somewhere to turn when things get really difficult can make such a difference @MissGremlin

Casper sounds hilarious 😂 I can see why he keeps you laughing

Absolutely, slow days are the best sometimes, just taking things as they come and getting cosy with the pets. I’m definitely enjoying mine today 💛

@Nala2022 sometimes it helps to just have someone listen even if they can't fix anything.

He's honestly so funny and so loving.

They really are the best and I'm so glad you've got one today ❤️.

I've just put the 3rd Harry Potter movie on and I made some tomato and cheese toasted on a yummy seeded roll i brought the other day 😋.

Casper really does sound like such a sweetheart😊

That toasted roll sounds so good! 😋 I’ve just had a bacon and egg roll myself haha

Ooooh, Harry Potter! 🥰 I think I’m going to have to rewatch all the movies again soon. Prisoner of Azkaban has to be my favourite, although I honestly love all of them so much.

What’s your favourite one? @MissGremlin

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 he's the bestest boy ❤️.

Oohhh that sounds so yummy, I love making bacon and egg rolls 😋.

I'm surprised that I don't know them words for word yet the amount of times I've watched them 😂. I don't have a favourite though, I can't pick favourite things of anything.

The headspins have started here, trying to distract myself by doing my diamond art (I'm safe). I really just want to feel ok 😞.

Re: Battles

I’m the same! I’ve watched the Harry Potter movies so many times, but somehow I still never get sick of them. And I completely understand not being able to pick a favourite, there all so amazing

I’m sorry the headspins have started again 😞 I can imagine how frustrating it must be when you just want to feel okay and your body isn’t cooperating. Hopefully your diamond art can give you a little distraction while you’re feeling like this. Just take it easy and be gentle with yourself today. I’m glad you’re safe @MissGremlin
