Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

That sounds really overwhelming, especially with your body already in panic like that @MissGremlin

It makes sense you’re worried about freezing or forgetting things, that’s a really common anxiety response, even when you know the doctor well. Maybe writing some questions or things you want to tell your doctor and bringing it with you might ease your anxiety, even if it's a little bit?

You don’t have to hold it all together or get it “right.” You can just start where you are and take things as they come once you’re there. Your doctor hopefully will help you fill in the gaps if you miss anything.

It will be okay, you've got this! We're all here for you 🤗

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 i made it up to my doctors surgery after having to jump-start my car again.

It's so busy here and it says that I'm 5th in queue. Sitting and waiting doesn't help ones anxiety but at least I've made it up here.

Re: Battles

I’m really glad you made it there @MissGremlin, especially after having to deal with your car as well, that’s already a lot before even getting into the appointment.

Waiting rooms can feel really tough when your anxiety is already high ☹️

Try to take it minute by minute if you can, maybe just focusing on your surroundings or something small nearby while you wait.

You’ve done the hardest step getting there. I’m really glad you went

I'm hoping off shortly, I'll check in when I'm back on next 💛

@Nala2022 thankyou for being here each step of the way. I've got my music on so I'm focusing on that while keeping connected here.

I hope you have a wonderful day ❤️.

Re: Battles

How did you go at the doctors @MissGremlin?

It sounds like you've found a few good things to help you get through the waiting

Thank you for your kind words. Be gentle with yourself today ❤️

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 I've got a medication to try to hopefully help with the nightmares. He's going to organise a sleep study and do another referral to a place to request telehealth appointments as they previously said they would do them and it says on their website they do but they refused for me last time. He's also been in contact with the psychology place that I've been trying to get help from so hoping they make contact aswell.

I'm feeling exhausted now, that took everything out of me. I'm laying on my lounge, snuggled with Casper.

Re: Battles

I’m really glad to hear your doctor has been able to put a few things in motion for you.

That's understandable, you've had a rough night and the lead up to the doctors was a lot too.

I’m really glad you’ve got Casper there with you and that you’re able to rest a bit now. Try to take it easy for the rest of the day if you can @MissGremlin

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 I'm hoping things start to settle and get easier, I desperately need some relief.

I'm hoping I can manage a little bit of a nap as I need to head out this afternoon. Just have to remind myself to be gentle with myself.

Thankyou for all your support today, it's really meant so much and helped get me through ❤️.

Re: Battles

I really hope things start to settle for you too @MissGremlin

A nap sounds like a really good idea if you can get some rest in before you head out this afternoon.

It’s really nice to hear that support today has helped, I’m glad you’ve been able to lean on it a bit 😊

Be gentle with yourself where you can

Re: Battles

Hi @MissGremlin I'm happy to hear that your doctor has put a few things into place to try and support you. Well done on getting yourself there and on getting yourself through it. I'm proud of you. You absolutely deserve to rest.

I have been awake since 3 am, after a bit of an emotional night. I'm feeling a little...sensitive today. But I mostly have a paper work/admin day and I am halfway through my work day! So I'm taking the day gently.
