Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Are you able to have sessions online? @NightFury

I remember transitioning from face to face to online. It took some time to get used to, but once I got used to it, it was okay.

Sorry you have this decision to make.

Re: Battles

So, I've done the opposite @tyme online didn't make me feel connected, or properly seen. So that's why I started face to face sessions.

I don't want to go back to online.

Re: Battles

Absolutely! It's what works for you @NightFury I apprecaite that you prefer f2f. I just hope there's a way for you to stay with this therapist if you feel it will help.

For me, it was COVID, so I didn't have a choice. We had to do telehealth or have nothing.

Oh, and I was driving this morning and thinking of you. Why? Because I realised I haven't touched my next assignment since I finished the last one!!!

Re: Battles

Me too. It's bothering me @tyme it's been on my mind all day. After being on the waitlist for 5 months, I find someone who I actually think can help and who makes me feel seen and supported and she's moving Practices.

I know you've been busy, so I think it's probably okay for you to have taken some time from your study. I have an assignment due in a couple of weeks. It's a big one, so I need to start it soon. But, I really need to give myself permission to rest this weekend. I feel so...flat.

Re: Battles

@NightFury I've just gotten back to the accommodation after meeting my friend.

I totally understand that frustration around having things for a short time when you need long term support, It's very much where I'm stuck. I'm glad you still have a bit of time before you have to decide but can imagine it would be weighing heavily on you.

Sending you lots of love and hugs sweetheart ❤️.

Re: Battles

Heading back from being away feels so bitter-sweet. Somehow I have more anxiety over going home than what I did leaving it. It's like I'm back to facing reality, back to the stress that comes with my everyday life. Also knowing that I'm leaving my friend is hard, just being in the same state brought me comfort. The closer I get to home the more the tears are starting to build up. I'm safe, sitting in the car with my friend as we have a 6 hour drive still left ahead of us.

Take care @MissGremlin

Oh! You drove! Who did you go with?

I remember those hilly drives. Up down up down... total wearing out the brakes lol
