Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

You're allowed to have a break from it @MissGremlin.

I hope you can get some rest too. You are a good friend, Miss Gremlin.

Re: Battles

@NightFury i think i might take a break from it for a while.

Thankyou sweetheart ❤️. I hope you can get a good sleep and that tomorrow feels less foggy for you ❤️

Re: Battles

Me too. @MissGremlin

I hate that foggy, slow brained feeling. I've had work colleagues tell me twice today that I look tired, and it's hard to explain...that my brain is moving slowly and feel all...fuzzy. So, I don't even try. "Yeah, I'm tired" is just easier.

Re: Battles

@NightFury it's definitely a crappy feeling to have. Can relate to it being hard to explain so I'm tired is much easier. It's like when someone asks how you're going and you sort of pause thinking do I ask with how I'm actually feeling but then you just say 'I'm ok'. Part of it is cos its too hard to explain but the other part is not knowing how the other person will react if you answer honestly when things aren't ok.

Re: Battles

Yeah, I generally just answer that I'm okay, or that I'm not too bad. @MissGremlin. I don't even pause any more, it's just automatic.

Re: Battles

@NightFury oh I hear you sweet, it really does become an automatic response. My counsellor knows not to ask me how I'm going, much like how we do it here.

Re: Battles

It's also like a guilt thing to, I think @MissGremlin I should be okay. I've got a good job, money to put food on the table and a roof over my head. I have a real good dogga as a best friend.

And also a little...shame maybe because my real answer is often the same day after day.

Re: Battles

@NightFury can also understand the guilt side of it. But even having those things it doesn't mean that life is perfect by any means.

The shame is 100% relatable. I get sick of saying that I'm not ok, that I'm struggling or things are tough cos its the same every day. But I'm hoping that one day I'll be able to say that I'm ok and actually mean it.

Love it @MissGremlin what a cutie!

Really loved reading along with that thread @Flutterbug9 - and totally agree with your sentiments about life being dull if we all liked the same stuff! Variety is the spice of life!

Hey @NightFury 👋

@Jynx i wanted to share a song with you, it's a bit of a fun maybe annoying one 😂. For years I couldn't find it no matter how hard i searched but someone the other day found it for me.
