Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@Flutterbug9 I'm so sorry sweet, I missed this post yesterday.

How's things feeling for you today sweetheart?

The land agent emailed yesterday (my birthday of all days though i feel it was intentional) to say that they won't do anything potter than. $475 a week, I'm not sure what I'm meant to do as I physically can't cover that much but there's no it's options.

Haha that picture is 100% accurate, labs seem to think that everything is edible 😂. That being said Casper is usually pretty good at not eating things that he shouldn't, this sock experience really was just very unfortunate. However I've still made the effort to move all socks well out of his reach 😂.

Re: Battles

@ENKELI it's ok sweet. Things never used to be like this, so it really does hurt but they've all made their choice so I can't do anything about it.

Oh wow, hope it all goes well with getting to know them. I found out that there's more family that I was never told about by my mother but they are all in the UK and I'm not interested in trying to get to know them.

You didn't neglect me sweetheart, I know you still care and will reply when you can ❤️.

I'll be around during the day, though things will get a little busy for me later but I'll still reply in between things.

Love and hugs to you beautiful, thankyou for always being so supportive ❤️

Re: Battles

I don’t understand how, without a high income, anyone could afford that amount of rent plus have money for other things @MissGremlin

maybe be going without the essentials (food, utilities etc) it might be doable (aiming for bit of humour there).

rental prices seem to go up in big amounts each year also. Couple yrs ago I remember seeing 3bedroom, 2 bathroom, no garage house in low socioeconomic area with rent listed at more than $500 a week. House now listed with rent in mid $500 a week. That was more than what my mortgage payments were.

im ok this morning. Bit annoyed due to something some one has said. I’ve had my say and now trying to moving on.

Appears going out on Thursday evenings is causing issues for me due to sound sensory overload. I’m thinking about buying a specific type of earplugs that will allow me to hear whilst reducing background noise. I enjoy the evening and prefer not to have to stop going. I have appointment end of this coming week with my psychologist, going to discuss things at the appointment before doing anything else. Bio for my psychologist mentions about working with ND people

ive got few things this morning I want to get done before walking to the cinema where I live and watching a movie this afternoon.

thinking of you and sending positive vibes

Re: Battles

@Flutterbug9 exactly, by the time rent and bills are paid there's just nothing left.

Essentials are clearly not allowed in this cost of living situation 😂. I mean who needs food, power, water etc 😂.

All the houses around here are above $500 a week even for properties that are so run down. This house was built in the 70's so it needs alot of work, it's actually becoming unliveable and regular maintenance isn't being done but yet they want to keep increasing the rent.

Sorry to hear that something someone has said has annoyed you, hugs sweet ❤️.

I did read somewhere where you mentioned about the earplugs, if you do get some I'd love to know what they're like if you want to share. I can relate to the sensory overload, the only way I can do my shopping is by putting my earbuds in and listening to music to drown out the noise, but even then it's a struggle with the bright lights, smells and crowds. Hoping that appointment with your psychologist goes well for you, it can help if they have the insight with ND people.

Hope you get your things done this morning and enjoy the movie later today.

Thankyou sweetheart, sending you love and hugs ❤️

Re: Battles

@Shaz51 thanks for the tag, I am familiar with the earbuds strategy mentioned on @MissGremlin ’s post. However I only do that whenever I need to work on an assignment that can help me lock in. I don’t put earbuds whenever I’m in crowds and such lol, I’m more of someone who prefers to hear what’s around me rather than not ☺️

Re: Battles

for me @Blackcloud

I only have one hearing aid as I am totally deaf in the left ear

so all I need to do is turn my hearing off to hear nothing 😂

@Shaz51 @MissGremlin

whenever I’m in an environment where the music is extremely loud (like if I’m at a concert, an arcade or at the cinemas) that’s the only time I need to plug in noise cancelling earbuds, not only because I’m sensitive to extremely loud noises like that but also because I get tinnitus

@Blackcloud I'm not ignoring any of your posts but I'm about to head to the shops so I'm going to reply later rather than trying to rush a reply now.

Love and hugs sweet, will talk to you a bit later ❤️.

Re: Battles

@Blackcloud @MissGremlin @Shaz51

I’ve known for many years I’m noise and pitch sensitive. Loud noises and shrill, high pitches have always given me headaches. Example of the pitch is the ring tone of land line phones. Pitch is also on a decibel that I can hear when I’m a distance away from the phone.

I put a thread on the forms, some people have recommended Loop Earbuds which are the ones I had been thinking about.

for me it’s more than just headaches now.

Im having mood crashes, active SI and/or brain fog after being out playing Mexican Trains within a large group each Thursday night.

Result of Google search

I’ve recently become aware that things I’ve done for years and just taken for granted, taken as “norm” for me align with autistic traits.

im planning on talking to my psychologist end of this coming week about the Google search outcome. Last appointment the mood crashes was one of few things I briefly mentioned during the appointment.

im thinking about mentioning it to my psychiatrist. My initial appointment with my psychiatrist is booked for mid May. curious if I am autistic. If seek assessment it would be for validation.
