Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@AlwaysMyself I'm glad it did, I was worried I wasn't making sense cos my brain is all over the place.

Oh I have those moments regularly lol. It's like I'll see something and go oh I want to look that up but then forget about it until something else reminds me.

Re: Battles

100% @MissGremlin - my brain is so full of those moments and thoughts! But thankfully 99% of them aren’t for the “essential to do” things, although perhaps that’s because I set alarms on my phone to remind me to do those things?

Oh, which reminds me that I realised I need to set an alarm for Wednesday to remind me to pack something in my bag to take to the medical appointment. 😂 I am going to do that RIGHT NOW.

Re: Battles

@AlwaysMyself see i always have the intention of setting an alarm but then I forget to do so 😂.

My brain gets too easily distracted, like this morning I turned the oven on to reheat some food but then started doing something else and forgot that I'd put the oven on, it was only when i walked past it that i realised it was warm so then remembered to put my food in 😂.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin 🤣 how long had the oven been on until you realised? lol

…yesterday I got out food to eat… must have gotten distracted… 2 hours later when I went to leave the house (and thus went to put something “out of dog reach” in the kitchen) noticed my food still on the bench waiting for me, on my plate and all. 😳 🤣.

I guess the good thing about modern ovens are they are probably less risky to leave on by accident that older ones?? 🤣

Re: Battles

@AlwaysMyself this morning was only about 20 minutes i think but it's not the first time I've done it 😂.

Haha of i relate to the out of dog reach part 😂. I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets distracted and forgets about things, honestly I can't help but laugh at myself sometimes for the silly things I do. It certainly keeps life interesting 😂.

Mines a gas stove/oven and when I do roasts it's on for long periods at a time so I think it's fairly safe but in saying that having it on for long periods during summer doesn't help with trying to keep the house cool.

Re: Battles

Haha oh yes in summer a hot oven is too much for me too @MissGremlin !

My dad grew up with eating cake-batter in summer if it was too hot to put the oven on 🤣, or so I have been told at least!

I have to “dog proof” my loungeroom every time I go out. But even then, if my girl dog wants to get something off the dining table or kitchen bench she can. All I can do is remove it from being as tempting as it is when on a coffee table or side-table next to the couch!

Re: Battles

@AlwaysMyself cooking in summer is a whole different ball game 😂.

I mean cake batter is yummy so I reckon that's fair 😂.

See Casper is good when I'm out and won't jump up to get anything but yet when I'm here he'll take the opportunity to be nosey at what's on the bench 😂. They have such funny personalities always keeping us on our toes.

Thinking of you @MissGremlin. Hoping you got at least a little bit of sleep.

Hello @Captain24 sweet, i got a couple of hours sleep last night but feeling very heavy today. I need to go to the shops but right now that feels like so much effort.

How are you doing today?
