Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Opps! @NightFury Well I got that terribly wrong then!!!

Reminds me of what I say to my niece. I say "I don't love you"..... she often frowns when I say this. Then I say, "I LLLLLOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEE YOU!" Then she smiles lol

So now I know, you LLLLLOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEE cofffee!

Re: Battles

That's kids for you @NightFury

I find being around them helps me find my inner child.

Hope you are not too stressed @NightFury I hear there is a lot of new learning.

Be kind to yourself. Is the Winter Olympics on now? The forums are super quiet!

Re: Battles

Kids do really bring out your inner child @tyme I agree and can relate.

Stress is a thing. I don't know if it's stress but today has been hard, heavy and I've been super anxious.

The forums have been really quiet. I don't know if the Winter Olympics is on. I don't really keep up with what's happening or watch sport on TV.

Re: Battles

I was listening on the radio to a professor today who spoke about the power to the breathing exercises to help with anxiety @NightFury

She mentioned about box breathing and engaging in the breathing gym each day to lower anxiety and feel in more control. It was a pretty wow talk.

Re: Battles

I used box breathing today @tyme on the bowls green. My anxiety was soso overwhelming and I was scared I was going to have a panic attack in front of everyone. I won't say it completely eased things, but it lowered things.

Chewing gum helped too.

Re: Battles

Only loved coffee since coming to Melb... it's not a Sydney thing... they have TEA @Shaz51 @NightFury

I'd encourage you to keep going with the box breathing... it can really do wonders.

Did I tell you I did a month of smiling mind and I could feel a massive shift? I had to make myself do it at first because I really hated it...

Re: Battles

Lol @Shaz51

I don't mind a good tea either @tyme

It took me a while today to remember to use breathing to help. I was kinda in a state though.

I tried to do Smiling Mind, but didn't stick with it. I need to stick with it, I think.
