Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@Jynx it's easy to know what to say to someone else especially cos I've been faced with that numerous times lately out of this space. But when it's yourself it's completely different and it really gives understanding of perspectives on things.

I have always loved being a part of this community and the support has been amazing. It's been a pleasure to walk with others along their journeys and to be able to make so many memorable connections. The PSW's have been gentle, kind and understanding and they really hold the community with such care and compassion.

Thankyou for the hugs and for everything sweet. Sending love and hugs back at you. Keep being the amazing and unique person you are ❤️.

Holding the hope for you @MissGremlin . Sorry that your little glimmer isn't glowing for you currently. Hoping some new fireflies will come your way and give some new glimmers to hold on to.

The MH-GP I saw yesterday suggested to me that if the novel treatment I am waiting for doesn't help, that we should also consider the other novel treatment too. I know these may not be accessible to you for various reasons, but it does make me wonder whether your GP/doctors/etc have considered less-traditional approaches that might help? Especially considering how severe things are. Sometimes I wonder "what is there to lose by trying?" when looking at what will happen if nothing helps.

Thankyou @AlwaysMyself sweet ❤️.

Unfortunately alot of things aren't accessible for various reasons. Having a heart condition and epilepsy definitely has a massive impact on what treatments are available.

Trigger warning as mentions previous attempts.

The referral to the mental health team was done very reluctantly by my gp given past experience when they gave up on me after attempts previously and left me with no support when I needed it most. Then last year I had another bad experience with them with a worker that came out to see me a couple of times saying 'how many times do we have to come out here to deal with you'. So i have very little faith in them even making contact. But this referral was done given the urgency of the situation as they are the only team that can offer immediate support and intense support even though it's only short term.

Just in case it's needed I'll say I'm safe for now.

Re: Battles

Oh @MissGremlin , that is an absolutely horrible thing for them to have said to you last year/time! 😮. I am so sorry. That is so undeserved and inappropriate and damaging for them to say. And they're meant to be MH workers?! I can understand why you and your GP are reluctant to refer to them again! I have been with my local public health too because in the past it has been "nothing we can offer" -- but at least they did not actively make it worse by their attitudes or words. I am so so sorry hun.

I hope they take it very seriously tomorrow morning, and take proper responsibility for providing adequate crisis support.

@MissGremlin I have to go to bed now (11:30pm), even though I wish I could still be awake and actively supporting you here.

(I know that you also are OK with this, but I like to let you know still both that I am going offline but also that I wish I didn't need to sleep -- if only I were an animal that had a brain that takes turns in half-sleeping so it stays awake the whole time?)

Re: Battles

@AlwaysMyself Thankyou sweet. You'd think these services would sometimes show a little bit of compassion and empathy given the fields they've chosen to work in especially with the vulnerability of people they are working with.

Honestly I feel like they've seen my name come up and gone, nope not even going to bother trying to help her. Cos they usually make contact within 24-48 hours especially with what's been stated in the referral to them.

Will just have to see how the morning goes tomorrow and at least i know I'm not sitting alone with everything ❤️.
