Gardens

Hi @Dimity How is your garden looking? Still green? Weeds? What is your favourite plant/s you have?

were you able to bring Tiger home?

Im slowly trying to teach myself about gardening, thank goodness for Google. One of my neighbours has good plant knowledge, it was her that suggested putting the cuttings into water. She puts water in old juice bottle each time she wants to get cuttings to grow roots.

Re: Gardens

Possibly @Dimity

Haven’t thought about it

If I do, would be potato’s, carrots, parsnips

due to the recent very cold nights plus the long toothed hoppy creatures (aka rabbits) I’ve also lost all the small cacti that I planted in front garden in terracotta bowls. 😩 Is there nothing these wild rabbits won’t eat??

How are you going with getting your back area redone? That tradie every turn up?

Re: Gardens

Oh no @Former-Member after all your work. What a pity.

No the tradie was very rude. Not sure why he turned nasty and renegged on the quote. One of the family is insisting on helping but it's not done yet. It's quite depressing. And now I'm trying to find someone to fix the fence.

I hope the notifications are fixed soon.

Re: Gardens

@Former-Member with luck the raised beds will be too high for the rabbits

Re: Gardens

Fingers crossed you can get handymen to do the fence plus the garden.

Physically not being able to do much is getting me down. Depressing feeling, I hear you.

saw my usual physio on Tuesday. No idea what he has done, right deltoid muscle quite sore and have to push through pain to raise my arm completely. I only had pain when trying to put my hand behind my back/twisting movements when I got there.

Words from physio about my concerns with pain management plans has given me different perspective. “Higher percentage of getting at least some benefits from the treatments than risks when having surgery”. Going to look at different cattery soon. Need to do list of questions I have when have zoom appointment with specialist

Re: Gardens

Hoping your pain has eased @Former-Member .

I'm getting a quote to fix the back fence and hoping they can also help in the backyard. I hate trying to find tradesmen. This one says he'll have a look on Thursday.

Hope your cats are looking after you well.

Has your sight been OK since the cataract ops? I'm just getting new reading glasses but the optometrist said something about glaucoma.

Re: Gardens

@Dimity Stick on heat packs have helped, used first one yesterday. Physio was today, muscle therefore quite sore prior to using the heat pack.

spoke to a vet couple days ago as my male showing random signs of dominance toward my female. Info from vet, cats are not meant to share with other cats, to let them sort out their own hierarchy issues and ensure I’ve got (for each cat) 2 litter trays, food and water bowls, bedding. Felt so bad as can’t do that I burst into tears when got home.

today they are back to their happy, loving, caring selves who have fussed over me most of the day.

if I do lot of screen time my long distance vision becomes blurry, my fault. No issues apart from that. An elderly relative has glaucoma, finds herself wearing tinted glasses large portion of the time. Hoping you don’t have glaucoma. Has optometrist suggested you see opthamologist?

keeping fingers crossed tradesman/handyman arrives and provides you a decent quote. Remember paying 50% of cost to have shared fence replaced at my previous unit, not cheap

Re: Gardens

@Former-Member the optometrist said she'd write to my surgeon but I'm not sure if that was just an updated referral. I find too much screentime bad for my eyes too but it's a hard habit to break.

I'm glad your heat packs help.

When I've had 2 cats they've tolerated each other but when I added a third at the request of a neighbour they were upset and stressed. Almost all my cats have been pushed onto me by other people. Separate food bowls and two or maybe three litter trays was all I could offer. I have water in 3 places. I understand your feeling upset but it sounds as though your beasties mostly get along. A Feliway or other pheromone diffuser can sometimes help reduce their stress. Also making a fuss of each of them so neither feels left out.

@Dimity Mid to late teenage male is what my boy reminds me of at times with his attitude. Test the boundaries and annoy mum.

my girl is smaller in size plus about 1.5kg lighter than him. It’s like because he is bigger than her than he thinks he can pick on her and get away with it.

since coming home from the vet they have spent majority of the days curled up together on my legs

That's sweet @Former-Member . A good sign.

Re: Gardens

@Former-Member I hope croquet went well if you played.

I've had 2 fencers visit to give quotes on the fence, they say they'll email.

Today I potted up three little succulents I'd struck from fragments.

And I ordered a grevillea, a bursaria and a sasanqua camellia.

Hope the heat patches and cats are helping.
