Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @outlander@Shaz51@utopia@Bunniekins

I have had a productive day in spite of a headache - maybe because of the headache

I am blaming the weather for that - it is very warm and humid here today

Soooooooo - I have fixed the glitch or whatever in my phone, increased my private medica insurance, been onto the Ministry of Housing about my shed that leaks and has a rotten door and also I am getting the gutters cleaned - they are full of a whold ecosystem and my daughter is coming on Sunday with seedlings etc to plant for me

And I still have to make a dentist appointment and get a bottle of Jack Daniels for my sil's birthday - my family is so great about helping with my garden

My knee feels okay - but yeah - my head is aching and so reading the computer isn't such a good idea right now

All the best my good friends

Sorry your head is causing such pain @Owlunar. But yes, you have been busy.
What plants are they putting in your garden on the weekend? Do you have your favorites?
I cleaned my gutters 2 weeks ago. I swear it's the best place to grow/make compost!

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @utopia

I told my doctor about the resident headache on Monday - he says possibly stress - I have had enough tension lately to light up the whole electrical grid - I said that about the grid - not my doctor

Yes - the gutters - I heard the birds busy in there one morning a few days back and they were tossing bits of moss out into the courtyard - really big pieces - moss is interesting stuff. Also I have grass growing in some parts of the gutters - of course I never think about it until the birds get busy there

And the shed - I have a garden chair holding the door shut - and last night was so warm I slept on the couch opposite the front door - and during the night the TV turned itself off and the wind had risen and I could hear a strange noise - like clicking and scraping - and I wondered what Companion Cat was up to - but dozed off again - and this morning I found the door of the shed - leaky shed - rotten door - had moved the chair away so that explained the nocturnal noise if not stopped it

So you cleaned your gutters Utopia - now that is a job I have never done but I bet that compost is really good up there and my plants - yes - my daughter works at a nursery and she is bringing some lettuce, a tomato plant and some parsley - also some new potting mix

It's really great when we achieve things - I have ticked off a lot of things today -

Hello @Owlunar

ahh yes I know the lecture mode, I got the same thing with my foot when they told me I was imagining the pain and it turns out ive got osteoarthritis, 2 permanantly torn ligaments and a torn tendon that will never heal now. But yes im imagining it and I was too afriad to speak up because they are suppsoe to be trustworthy and while yes a lecture might be in order but not when you dont get to ask questions or you feel so obligated to just agree with them so with no say. I understand and im hearing you.

Ebay has some really good braces, they do get expensive though but good quality ones last a while and are worth the once off expense.

Err yuk nope, no spieders at all for me! I can laugh about it now but it wasnt funny at the time but I was kept prisioner to a hunstman. It was above my door and I wouldnt go under it, and everyone was out. At that point my pop was ok and I called him because I couldnt leave the room! Boy did I learn how to bladder hold that day! Luckily I ahd heaps of study but I couldnt focus on that cause I was too worried the spider was going to move and come closer or id loose it!.

Im glad you managed to have a productive day despite having a headache, mightve pushed myself too far as I nealry passed out in this heat while paddock cleaning earlier today.
Im really glad you were able to do the things that you needed to do including getting your phone fixed, I couldnt live without mine.
Good luck with your dentist appointment today.

Im glad your knee is feleing ok and that your family helps out too. Its good to have that family support. Id come help you too if I could.

@Decadian@utopia

Yes - I would love get rid of some stressors - my care plan is that I live here with the help arranged though my Aged Care Package but that causes me more stress than I want to talk about - and some things is life are inavoidable

The stuff about my knee - I am getting over the lectures - yes Outlander - we do not need lectures - I felt okay about contradicting my therapists - I do know why I do what I do after all and do not need to be told - though sometimes I had to leave it to the next session to tell them - even so - I know a lot of anatomy I did a formal course in anatomy for a year and know about the knee with its four bones, 4 ligaments and 4 tendons - I think that's right - but this guy started by insisting I needed that operation straight away and that threw me - I do not like being treated like a child - and I actually contradict my own doctor at times - and I understand all this stuff so I am still amazed that I cried when the physio lectured me on everything but I am over that now and working the knee and ahhhhhhhhhhhhh enough said

About spiders - I remember you had them Utopia - was that last summer - they seem to come to life in summer - I had my back courtyard full of vines but the ministry of housing sent people to cut them back a few years ago and I miss them - and I didn't mind the huntsman spiders Outlander - I don't want them in my bedroom and my cat thinks they are specially for her enjoyment but this one I had in the lounge during the week and I had ants in my lounge - not that many but still - when I find what they are after I can get rid of it - but I had sprayed the ants and I must have driven the spider out and this middle sized so in so is a poisonous spider so it was mercilessly disposed of and quickly - under a little container and left on the floor

I can understand bladder holding too Outlander - my Gran would not let us use public toilets until we were bursting - and all the women in my family have large bladders - sometimes I wonder if I am ever going to stop - nuff sed - but I still don't like public toilets - I don't want to use one on a plane so I go before and after - lessons in bladder holding are best learned young I think - spider avoidance - good idea

One of my cares who I had for some time - she would call me to deal with spiders and I think they are called jumping spiders and I have a lot of them - they are small but jump - I had to laugh when I was called to get rid of these little buggers but yes - unless you know which spiders do which - it's best to avoid what you can

I think of you heaps Outlander - I was busy yesterday and didn't get the chance to check on you with my phone which got pretty flat but you were still in my mind

Catch up later ladies

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Owlunar. Yes it was around this time last year that I had problems with spiders, ants, march flies and bees. They were all attracted to me. Hope it doesn't happen this year.
There is a thick vine where I have my little outdoor smoko area. The daddy long legs have thousands of babies. They have the thinnest webs. But I watched two of them this morning when a bee landed in their web. The bee is now nicely wrapped up in spider web thread. Fascinating to watch.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @utopia

Yes - your spiders and the truth that you cannot use sprays and such things - I can be merciless with insect spray

The daddy-long-legs are fine web-spinners - I know they are always about because the web collects dust and having the wind blow around the house causes the web to fall in long curtains - but also - the daddy-long-legs is one of the most venomous of spiders but they are harmless toward humans because they are too small for them to get a bite it which is brilliant

I like watching them too - I miss all the vines I had in my back court yard - there was a whole ecosystem in there - and I could watch for ages looking in among the leaves but the body corporate here and the man next door were instrumental in my having them cut down and I am still sad about that years later - but there is still enough happening to watch

I love watching bugs -

Hello @Owlunar, @utopia

it has been raining on and off here all day , tuesday night we had a mini cyclone here , there was lightening and thunder for 12 hours -- it went on and on and on wow

we have done our food shopping and my mum`s shopping -- Mr shaz said we should get home delivery as he hates shopping

well, had to take mum back up to the hospital , she was given stuff for her bad cough and she has been getting worse than better, so this morning they took a scan and there is a shadow in her lung
