Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @Faith-and-Hope@Shaz51@utopia@Former-Member

I had assisted shopping today - crowded supermarket - kids - ah - I could have done without children wandering around not looking where they are going but an adult - that was when I had to shout - self-protection - and my carer supported me - anyway

I used my crutches - I haven't for some time now- and I went up to the pharmacy here to get some medication and pay my phone bill - yikes - I do need a brace

So I looked them up on the internet and I will ask to see a physiotherapist about which kind to use - there are braces that I never saw before and they can be worn on top of clothing - which is a good thing.

The brace I had was the largest of it's kind - these are different - I am prepared to do almost anything to avoid having surgery - I am quite firm about that atm and let's see how that goes

That's a beautiful picture Faith - thank you

I feel better today - yesterday I was rattled out of my brains - I did sleep eventually but it was late before I went to bed - and I am really tired now

Thanks so much for your support my good friends

Thanks @Shaz51

I did a course in Mother Craft when I was in year 9 or 10 - I did rather well but rarely think of it now

But I remember being told not to carry the baby on the hip because it would be bad for the posture - of course I was young and "knew it all but the towers of 9/11, Jerusalem and Troy had yet to fall"

I carried my daughter around on my hip for ages - then when she was a toddler she would hang onto my leg as I walked around her and I ignored her - she had been born early and spent the first weeks of her life in Special Nursuries and I was in a different hospital at first so I think she craved cuddles - and she was a small sociable baby and carrying her around seemed to be natural

The one by one the towers fell - my right knee has suffered multiple trauma and I don't know why the right - still I was an athlete and the same mind runs the same body - I will beat this

But yeah - carrying the baby

I am sorry about your arthritis - are some people more prone than others to get arthritis? I think I am genetically disposed for athritis but one thing I know about myself is that I prefer the devil I know -

Thanks again Shaz

@Owlunar. Great to hear how motivated you are to start protecting your knee. Yes, a good physio will help you find a brace that's right for you.
I can sympathise about shopping during the school holidays. Kids everywhere. So much noise and chaos. I'm glad my son is older now. It's more likely I would be the one throwing the tantrum now. Lol.

Good morning ladies - I slept for a long time last night - I fell asleep iny chair really early and woke up and went to bed and went on sleeping - until late

I feel so much better - I have made my decision and that is to work my knee with the crutches and see a physio about a brace I can wear over my trousers and walk more - I already walk a lot and let's give this joint my life time - even if I wear the brace for the rest of my life

It's many years since I was told I needed a shoulder replacement and it's still working without one and my determination to work the muscles has worked there so let's see how detemination works - thanks @utopia

I take it easy this morning to recover from the supermarket yesterday and - after all -my knee is the same as it was a few days ago - and all we can do is life one day at a time

Yes after 25 years of carrying babies and children on my hips , it is a long time to have a baby

I started babysitting when i was 18 , before that i looked after my cousins who think i am heir big sister

so from 18 to 43 , i have always had babies to carry as well as children , I loved every minute of it

soo glad you feel a bit better today my awesome friend @Owlunar, yes one day at a time

Re: Life can be a Pain

Glad you had a good sleep last night @Owlunar, helps! Proud of your determination to take the nonsurgical approach & work your knee with crutches, physio exercises, walking and the brace. Hard but if anonw can pull it off - you can! Where u athletic when young? Think I remember that. Good call re shoulder replacement too, wow!

Good you're doing 'self care' - takingbot easy after the supermarket. Yep - one day at a time is our best option.

Hugzz 💜💕
