Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

@Owlunar hey mamma bear. Just realised you are back. Not sure if you remember me. I have been here for a few years already. Still struggling with MI, mood and anxiety. Looking after elderly mother and working. So nice to see your post. Take care.

Hi @Meowmy

Yes - I do remember you - I especially like your user-name - I always did and I remember saying so once - years ago.

You are busy -working and looking after your elderly mother and battling MI and anxiety is a tall order - I am not sure how you manage all of that.

I did have my turn at a busy life while grieving my son - working two jobs and studying at university - and I had other interests as well - I think it all worked for me developing resilience. I wish that for you too - I certainly had time to think though.

I didn't have to care for my elderly mother though - she drove me away and my sister had to do all of that - their choice I think - and not easy for me either - it's all in the past now though.

All the best

Oh yes - I wanted a more appropriate user-name - I had to take time out for bereavement leave when my uncle died last year - he was my best friend - I'm okay now though

Hi @Eve7

And thank you - you are right - the deep pain of losing a child doesn't go away - it does get less as time - like decades - passes.

Still anniversaries come and pass and the memories surface - oddly different each year - it was a hard day - but I have had it worse - time brings a certainty that makes me aware that I can endure these things.

I'm sending my love - knowing things are not easy for you either

This winter is passing quickly - and my dental surgery is the week after next - so that's coming up fast too - I'm not thinking too much about that yet - preferring to have a meltdown - if that's necessary - when the time eventually arrives. I am telling all the necessary people that I am phobic about the whole deal - it's not easy admitting vulnerabilities but I do have them - like everyone else. I knew this time was coming over 10 years ago but did not know I would be having a wisdom tooth surgically removed at the same time. It's all happening under a GA - which is freaky too.

I will be okay

Thanks for the many messages
