Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @Faith-and-Hope

I'm wishing you the best with your mature age studies - it was a great part of my life when I was doing that - and worth every minute though it's nearly 30 years since I graduated. I still appreciate what I learned - and I am still learning.

All the best

Hi @Faith-and-Hope

Me too - I found an unexpected world full of ideas - and I still keep getting new ones.

You had it totally tough for years - and I know - from a man who could have been supportive you got very little back for your care and devotion.

I'm so glad you have all your children - that was tough on them too - and hopefully they are happier now too.

You really deserve all of this

Hi @Owlunar Mumma Bear,

Thanks for the tag, thinking of you for your upcoming dental surgery which must be soon now. I hope that it all goes really smoothly and that you don’t get too anxious. The professionals know what they are doing but it’s a matter of putting trust in them. I am not the best where it comes to trusting medical professionals myself. When I get admitted to hospital it takes me several weeks to warm up to the Nurses. Wishing you all the best!

All my love,

Meggle

Hi @Faith-and-Hope @Oaktree @EternalFlower @Shaz51 @Appleblossom @Zoe7

@TAB @tonys @outlander @Meowmy @florencefifty @ClockFace @MDT

Hey everyone - I have been batting with my nerves lately - my dental surgery is on Thursday - I am not looking forward to this one scrap - I am going ahead with it though - and dealing with all the preparation - lots of medical visits and phone calls.

Today I had a phone call from the hospital and told the person who wanted details about my phobias - she is going to confer with the anaesthetist about a premed - which sounds like a good idea to me - and I have done all the research so I know what everyone else will be doing when I am totally out of control.

I have been reading other people's messages - I haven't been up to responding until tonight - still - it's a good idea to keep in touch.

Yesterday I had escorted shopping and went to the mall - I got new sneakers - a new charger-cord for my phone and one of those gadgets that you can charge and top up your phone if the power goes out - such a good idea - and a couple of new books too. I read a lot.

I have been watching TV programmes on recycling - we all do our best I am sure - I was delighted to leave my old sneakers at the shop for recycling - this is such a good idea - recycling I mean.

Also - I dropped into the office of my local MP and spoke to his secretary. The kit he gave to us about My Aged Care was helpful and I wanted to let him know - and also - that I am voting "Yes" for "The Voice" - I mentioned my son to this young woman and she listened - it is quite story - and I have wondered if I could tell the local First Nations Elders his story - after all - he grew up in this area and they are unlikely to have heard about him - I think it's important. For some time, I have felt there is something unfinished and this could be it.

So although I have really felt flat and now twitchy about next week I have been going about my life. I do appreciate the messages.

And yes - @ClockFace - I do read yours - it's a good thing to keep a journal as you do - I hope it helps you get through the day - it helped me to keep a notebook journal through the tough years of my life.

And @MDT - I see you changed your name - I wondered why I couldn't tag you - but I gotcha

Goodnight everyone and all the best
