Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

@Appleblossom

Hi Apple

Absent friends - yes - that is a good way to put it at Christmas when the list of absent friends gets longer as the years pass.

Christmas Day is the day - if we are lucky enough - we spend with those we love - and I had lunch with my daughter and son-in-law and Face-Timed with my grand-daughter and her boyfriend -

We had my favourite meal - roast lamb and vegies and a dessert that was made by my son-in-law and was all delicious - it was quiet and peaceful.

Certainly I thought of my parents and my son - it does hurt less as the years pass - I am glad you are doing your best to get past your mother's shenanigans - we can live without those less as the years pass too

All the best Apple - for the New Year

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Clawde @Appleblossom @BlueBay @Former-Member @Anastasia @Zoe7 @Emelia8

I just had a phone call from my elderly uncle in Melbourne - I have news about my frail-aged relatives in Hobart,

My aunt is i hospital with pancreatic cancer and has about 3 weeks to live - my uncle is in aged care with dementia - I guess he really had no idea what's happening and that's hard for us but for him - confusing maybe

I don't feel like writing anymore today - I will take time to myself - maybe I will ring the hospital where my aunt is and maybe ring my cousin who is living at there house

It is a relief to have some news though it is sad news

Thanks everyone

Oh @Owlunar Pancreatic cancer is such a horrible (and quick) disease. My neighbour died of that and it was only a few weeks from being diagnosed until he died. I am so sorry for you Hon - I know how much you love your Aunty and Uncle down here Hugs and hugs and hugs Dec

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @Anastasia and @Zoe7

I feel really at loose ends now - I did a few chores and I am going to take something for the headache that just started and lie down for a while

I can leave my phonecalls until tomorrow - after all - I have learned all I can right now from my uncle and I think I need to let it settle - there is nothing I can do about either of them and you are right Zoe - I love them both very much

Maybe I can write to my aunt - that would be better than trying to talk on the phone to someone who is do ill - but tomorrow - tomorrow - that is when I can do something about it

I don't know if I can go to a funeral in Hobart right now without running the risks of being quarantined and I have another appointment in January to have another fluid replacement injection - I suppose that is another decision when the time is right for it - making decisions on half the information isn't what I do - making one about my increasing headache is

Time out for me now

Re: Life can be a Pain

I am so sorry to read this news about your Aunt @Owlunar

i feel for you right now and sending you a big hug and love

I guess you were close to your Aunt and Uncle (special people in your life)

Can you write a letter to your Aunt and get it to her soon, so someone can read it for her? It would be nice for her to hear from you this way. Maybe flying down there will be hard for you especially as you are still not too well and in pain.

oh i am sorry, it's a shock to you. rest up now and take it easy

Love BB xxxxoooo

Re: Life can be a Pain

I was going to ask if you would come down for the funeral @Owlunar ...such a sad time and having extra complications if you had to quarantine would add to that. As far as I know (but this could change at any time) Tassie is currently open to those that are vaccinated and have had a negative COVID test 72 hours before travelling - I am going to look into it more for you and will let you know the most up to date info as soon as I have it.

For now though your only job is looking after you - so take some time to let it all sink in and be able to process it (as much as you can) - until you know more and can make decisions. More hugs incoming Hon
