Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @Emelia8 @Shaz51 @Myboy @Hamso @BlueBay @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @TAB @outlander @Sans911 @Snowie @Historylover @Faith-and-Hope @Clawde

Saturday afternoon - lovely sunny weather in Melbourne - I am so pleased to report

Thanks for the owl MyBoy - great pic - and that is a real cutie

It's good to look at the world from different angles

I was really busy yesterday - I finally got in touch with an agency that provides assistance for all sorts of problems for people with all sorts of problems and I had my rat exterminator out to rebait the roof - I don't have an many rats as I did a year ago but different rats keep coming back into my roof - and I also had a gardener come and do the gardening and it was a huge job - he will be coming back every few weeks to keep it up to scratch - and my garden - the back is only a courtyard but the triffids had got loose and now the gutters have been cleared and the vines cuts back out of the areas that were allowing the rats to get into my roof - it's obviously a problem around here with rather high density living

I had my support workers in too - a lot was happening at once - and I went shopping with one of them - I forgot to have lunch and after a light dinner I remembered that but I was so tired - I went to my doctor and on the way back they sent a maxi-taxi and I don't need that - they are so bumpy - it's not a long trip - but my shoulder was giving me curry and I was so exhausted after such a day but it was worthwhile

The lockdown has caused so many bottlenecks in everyone's system - I still have to have my bad-feathers sorted but the hairdressers are so busy and I am no-one's regular client but I will get my feathers fixed soon - but I do have a regular optometrist so although I have to wait weeks I do have an appointment. The Sydney cluster of COVID found it's way down to where I live and several places near here were hot spots - I wanted to go and get a recliner but not yet - maybe on Monday. I am not alone in feeling wary about shopping right now and actually - not anxious to go out without a mask

I did have coffee with my daughter during the week though - and it's great she is feeling okay to drive a bit now - and my grand-daughter is having her birthday next week - I am mailing a card tomorrow - she has found a very nice boyfriend - I am so glad she has - I am hoping the borders will be open enough to feel okay about flying up to the Sunshine Coast to see her in July - let's hope we can get vaccinated by then

It's great to have good news - and good to catch up with people

It could be worse - at least I can get my feathers into a pony tail

I do actually have natural stripes like this - how lucky can anyone be?

Hi

Hi @Emelia8 @Shaz51 @Myboy @Hamso @BlueBay @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @TAB @outlander @Sans911 @Snowie @Historylover @Faith-and-Hope @Clawde

I think the weather has hit the century in Melbourne - I turned the A/C off last night before I went to bed but had a lot of windows open - it was a beautiful evening - before I went to bed I watered some of the back garden and freshened the bird bath - neither would have happened before the garden had been detailed so brilliantly - and my bedroom overlooks my courtyard so went I went to bed I could smell the fresh damp earth and it felt really relaxing. Such a huge difference - in fact I am managing things better inside the house since Friday - it was getting me down having the back yard totally consumed by triffid-like plants and vines that were up to the gutters and all over the hot water service and air conditioner - yeah - it was bad - and I had tried to trim some of it but it was too much for my wonky shoulder.

About the weather - I woke up really early - and I felt hot. I got up and closed all the windows and turned the A/C on again - and managed to get back to sleep - it's my grand-daugher's birthday later in the week so I went up to the post office and mailed her card - it was already stinking hot and north of the city there is a bad industrial fire and smoke alert - I think the smoke is around south east of the bay so not good -

I am wondering if I really want to bother about the Indigneous People and tomorrow - it being Australia Day. Yes - my son was of Indigneous background and his death is listed in the Aboriginal Deaths In Custory during the Royal Commission. I didn't know he was aboriginal when I adopted him but I am proud somehow that he was. But I am Anglo-Celtic myself and I have always been a British subject as well as Australian by birth so it's a bit of a hotch-potch in my mind. I guess it's a pretty multicultural event - when I was younger I used to join a march of local institutions but time changes everything and now I am not sure how to feel - I guess it will all come to pass

My daughter and son-in-law gave me a zodiac jig-saw for Christmas and I have started doing it - it's actually round - I have never done a round puzzle before - and the is a map of the pictures with the puzzle and sorting it out means the image is exactly the right size to sort out the pieces and start putting them together - I am enjoying myself -

I would like everyone to enjoy whatever they choose to do tomorrow - it will be a different Australia Day for many I am sure but I am glad we are not in that severe lockdown at the moment. And I went to the post office without a mask today - some people had them but I found breathing much easier without one - let's give thanks for the distance we have come and hope and pray it all improves and that the vaccine can roll out asap

All the best everyone

G'day @Emelia8 @Shaz51 @Myboy @Hamso @BlueBay @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @TAB @outlander @Sans911 @Snowie @Historylover @Faith-and-Hope @Clawde

We have made it to Friday again and we have rain in Melbourne that started early and is getting heavier - we had this promised for days and at last we have it

I have been busy - just getting my back garden cleared up and clipped back seemed to release the lockdown tension that had been holding me back - though I have to say the local rats have found the poisoned feast in my food and are feasting on it - little knowing it's not a good idea - just better if they stayed away - but they will in a very short time - I am glad I have done something about it though

I went to the bank on business on Wednesday - the taxi driver hit the curb hard and I yelped and my shoulder has been giving me a hard time - and I have nearly finished here so I will have a shower and stand there with the hot water running over it for a while - it really don't matter how much hot water I use because no one else will want a shower here - I will have to email or ring my specialist to let them know that the pain is increasing because basically - I am doing more - getting out more - and I am a vulnerable being in a world that of course cannot see that my shoulder is totally wrecked and yes - I am going shopping today - with assistance - and I will be seeing my GP so yes - I had better get in touch with my specialist - it is nearly 3 months since my last ablation so I can have it done again in a couple of weeks - and the last thing I want right now is another emergency hospital admission - that is never a good thing

My grand-daughter got her birthday card - she is very please with her gift - so easy to send a cheque - yes - as old-fashioned as I can be I still use cheques - and I am so looking forward to a trip to the Sunshine Coast to see her - it is lovely up there in winter -

So - enjoy your Friday everyone - and whatever you have to face today - have the confidence to know that every time we do something that seems beyond our reach - we gain resilience

Thanks for that lovely pic @outlander - it's really pretty - I love it

It's Monday afternoon - I had a quiet weekend - dealing with the shoulder pain which is settling - I did a lot of reading - I certainly read people's posts but the shoulder needed rest and I am feeling a lot better today

If I wanted to have a gripe this is the place I am sure. I get so tired of people not listening to what I say - and I do listen. I am a person who listens. I give people feedback that I have heard them - maybe people aren't interested in letting people know they heard. Maybe I am just having too much shoulder pain lately and I feel grumpy. I was tired over the weekend but not so much today

I just had one of those conversations where I tell people I heard them say whatever they said but they just continue - enough said though

It's upsetting that the coronavirus got into Perth and now they are locked down for the rest of the week I think - and then people were out panic buying as if the shops were never going to open again - and people can go out for essential shopping - I wonder why people do this

I must be feeling very tired - and the gardener has turned up to mow the lawns here so I had better stop

I hope everyone's Monday is the best it can be - and yes of course - there is a Monday in every week

Of course it is and yes - I heard you

I am a crabby old owl today - I am a grandmother and allowed to be - enjoy the evening

Hi @Emelia8 @Shaz51 @Myboy @Hamso @BlueBay @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @TAB @outlander @Sans911 @Snowie @Historylover @Faith-and-Hope @Clawde @WIP

Wednesday morning - and I do feel better today - we all have days when it is all a bit hard - I don't like sharing it much but yes - I think it helped to do so - I did feel pretty droopy on Monday

Sometimes I take a good look at the world even if I don't want it to look at me - but that's okay

I have a brilliant Zodiac jigsaw I got for Christmas - I spent a lot of time doing this over the last few days and it's coming together well - and soon I will move it off the plan onto the table top and I think I am about half-way finished. Some of the signs have parts joining to parts next to them so it's getting there

I have been taking it easy to rest my touchy shoulder - it's strange - it is hard to live with but I manage to keep a good mood - it's feels odd when it slips but we all have bad days - it would be a strange thing if we didn't - how would we know when things were okay - could we really see the light without the shadows

All the best everyone - time for coffee obviously

I got some great white chocolate and pecan cookies at the supermarket on Friday - I'm happy to share

I'm not really tired - I just need real coffee
