Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hello dear @Owlunar . So sorry its taken me so long to get back here to respond to your posts over the past couple of weeks. All that travelling just took it out of me, as did the radiation itself. Anyway this is about you, not me.

How are you today? I note that your most recent post here was just over a week ago. And at that time it sounded like you were feeling a little worse for wear. That shoulder of yours in an ongoing problem, and hopefully you can get in soon for your next treatment. You do so well to cope with the constant clearly intense pain that you endure from it. With only what seems like a brief respite after treatment. I admire you greatly for that, because I know what pain does to us. And I like your mindset around not recognising the light, unless we have seen the darkness.

Perhaps you have completed your zodiac jigsaw puzzle, your christmas gift. You may like to post a picture of it so we can all see, once its done. I would be interested in seeing, as it sounds very interesting. I know you are into anything to do with the stars and galaxies and all that fascinating stuff in outer space. Can you remember what you were doing when man landed on the moon, all the way back in July 1969? Its one of those things you always remember ... like the day Princess Diana died in the car crash, and the twin towers were hit in 9/11.

Okay enough musing ... it is just a quick visit today. I hope you are doing well my dear wise owl friend.

Sending you some love and a gentle hug.

Emelia 💞🤗

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Emelia8 and @BlueBay

My shoulder is causing me a lot of pain - probably not as bad as the last time but enough to wear me down - I attend to most of what I need to do each day but it takes me all day to do it. It could be worse. There are other things my specialist can do - that's stem-cell injections or fluid replacement - it's not time to imagine I have this for the rest of my life yet

There was a mix-up with my medication - not my fault - I won't say any more than that except it has been sorted out but I am presribed less and it's not enough - life would be easier had this not happened and I have enough regular to take the edge off but that's not enough either. I am seeing my specialist in a few weeks so let's see what happens then

This COVID cluster in Melbourne is making me feel really tired and bored with the whole thing - I wake up most mornings and my first thought is "Coronavirus still?" - like everyone esle I would like to go away - even to Lakes Entrance and I would if I could drive but I don't so I won't and that's my choice so I don't need to feel lock-downed atm but - nhyh - we are sort of

I have nearly finished the Zodiac jigsaw - I only have to finish the outside and all the pieces look the same and seem to be much the same shape but the are not - I only have about thirty pieces to go - I'm leaving it to do in the daylight tomorrow or Saturday

Yes Em - I do remember what I was doing when men first walked on the moon - I took the day off work and defrosted the fridge - it was a very cold day in Melbourne - what a fun thing to be doing during the first moon landing !!! - it did seem to take forever to get around to stepping out of the LEM though.

And I remember what I was doing when I heard about 9/11 and when Princess Diana was killed and when the Westgate Bridge came down in Melbourne - and I remember when the King died and although I didn't know what it meant at the time I remember the word Hiroshima. This is the first thing I remember

And yes Em - it is all a hoot - a bit one

Great to see you here BlueBay - I hope the week is easier for you at this end of the week. Perhaps things will be better tomorrow - I hope so.

I was just watching Silence of the Lambs - it's a good movie even though it has some tough moments. I first watched it 30 years ago and I remember so much - my life has been interesting

Time for bed - I can hear it raining now - I'm glad I did my washing today - it all dried really fast

All the best for both of you

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Emelia8 @BlueBay

Here is my jigsaw puzzle - I am so glad I did this one - I love it

I just read the news on my computer - I had missed in on TV - my Fridays are usually busy and today is no different

We are locked now - snap lock-down - for 5 days because of the very infectious varient of the coronavirus - aw blast

Someone brought it into the country on a plane - this is a serious glitch - and we have had so much time lock-down it is a serious question about letting people back in from countries where the virus is having a field day

But as responsible people we will comply but it does seem harsh to me when we have already done so much in a responsible manner

Hi @Owlunar,

Long time no see. Good to read your words again. Even though the lockdown is hard to stomach again, you seem to be taking the news well. My mum is in Melbourne, 85 and living alone. She is well cared for by wider family and I ring her often. Hope this thing is short and effective at clearing any community transmission.

I used to love jigsaws as a kid but can't yet see your image. Hope there is enjoyment in your day.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Oh dear @Owlunar ... your photo took ages to come through, and then I forgot to come back to take another peek.

Only just coming back to see your jigsaw puzzle now. 4 days late!

But it was worth the wait ... It looks fantastic! What will you do with it now ... ie take it all apart and put it back in its box for another time in future?

Hope you are coping okay with the lockdown in Melbourne. I think it should end tomorrow night, unless something changes dramatically. How is your painful shoulders going?

Okay, must go ... sorry its short and sweet. Feeling really down. Catch you another time. Take care. Much love.

Emelia 💕
