Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @outlander@Zoe7@Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member

The day settled down and I got on with life - but I have a bit of a cold and although it's not bad I feel a bit displaced - if that makes sense - and went to sleep when I was watching Star Trek but I was recording it - luckily

I watched TV all evening - which was not a waste of time because I feel better this morning

Today I have an appointment to take my cat to the vet to have those dangerous claws clipped - last time I made an appointment for that process I got something too - ah what!!! - to be cold free the cat has to grow her claws - not funny - nor comfortable

my daughter and her husband will have left for New Zealand by now - it's my sil's mil's 80th birthday and it's a surprise but all her kids and some of her grandchildren and even great-grandchildren will be there - I would love to be there but I sent a card - lovely card - it's a special birthday

And today it is raining - maybe that's why I feel better - the dust in the air has settled

And yes - it was good having a hard worker yesterday and guess what - the same person is coming back tomorrow for the rest of the work - this is so good - after what the lady did yesterday while I was in bed I could hardly believe how clean everything was - it was the kind of job I would have done if it was possible

Hey @BlueBay - if this tag comes up on your phone - I read you email - I hope you feel better and can really enjoy your holiday on the Gold Coast - enjoy it for my sake

Oh yes - I am planning to escape Melbourne - a cruise sounds pretty good to med - I might take it whether my grand-daughter wants to come or not

This is my news - I hope everyone else has the best day possible

Re: Life can be a Pain

hello @Owlunar and all others

this season change has brought out a few nasty viruses. I have some stomach thing that left me bending over with pain last night.

i have to get my cats to the vet for annual injections and claws clipped. They will not be impressed in the least. More glaring to come! Wait until I head off for overseas in 9 days they will never come near me again!!

Wonderful news re cleaner. Good, hard working, efficient cleaners are hard to come by. Be very nice to her laugh.

happy to see how successful your astronomy thread is also. Great interest for you as you impart so much knowledge to others. You are actually providing therapy. Hmm could you start something within your community? community centre? my mind rambles.

Apologies for not writing sooner. I withdraw sometimes when things are troubling me, not heard from son or even heard from son etc.

other times I respond to posts and seem to end up causing the person more concern. So I withdraw.

It is pouring here. So glad that I got my morning walk in. Just waiting for my hair to dry and then off to the dreaded local supermarket. Why is it that I loathe that place so much. Some people just irritate me with their loud, screeching voices. Then there is sometimes the poor service. Oh well we have to eat. We have not enough vegetables and other stuff so I need to ...have to...go.

take care xxxx

Hi @outlander@Former-Member@Shaz51@Zoe7

It seems to be a lovely morning in Melbourne- a bit on the cold side - but then - it's nearly winter

And it is good to have a good cleaner - she is coming again this morning to do the ironing and change the bed and hang out the washing and she is such a good worker - yes - I will be nice to her - and I am up this morning even if I am still in my dressing gown -

I am a bit sore because I find it hard to carry the cat-cage - but my cat has had her claws clipped and now her paws and soft and fluffy - but she is not letting me touch them atm - I think she actually likes going to the vet and seeing the girls and having the extra attention but I put her in her cage and took her in a taxi and that was not nice human - wow - I love a day out

And she has put on some weight - for a cat who was steadily losing weight for over a year this is so great - they were concerned that she might have cancer and she had blood and urine tests and everything was clear - and her coat is always in good condition - so it seems whatever ailed her is over - that God for that

And yes - it is time for colds and flu and I have a drippy nose and sometimes ache a bit so I don't know what that is - it could be a touch of allergy - let's have allergy - that's not catching

But I think Shaz has the flu - so sorry about that - you are in a hight risk category I believe so that is not easy at all

Thanks for your idea Mohill - about my starting something local - I am not going to do that - I would have to be prepared to attend my own meetings and my back pain makes me unreliable - it's a good idea though

I will have to have another look to see what I have missed - but if I have missed you I am sure I will catch up on my next trip round

Re: Life can be a Pain

hello @Owlunar

I had a cleaner a few years ago when I worked full time. It was such a lovely feeling to walk through the home and know that the housework was all done.

My husband would come home from work, smile, sometimes comment about the house looking nice.

Then within minutes, there would be insects, cut grass walked in, tea slopped on the benchtop, cat fur. This used to get to me. I then realised that the housework was important from the hygiene point of view not the visual. The house was still a home where we lived not stepped cautiously to avoid making a mess.

For you, having such chronic pain, it would literally take a load off of you mentally and physically.

@Shaz51 yes I am worried about you too. I will try and find you somewhere and respond to you.

@outlander hoping that things are starting to settle a little more. The old saying, a new day tomorrow, a different aspect is so true and something that I sometimes take for granted, not you outlander, generalising here, definitely something I need to remind myself, of.

@Zoe7 hoping that you are slowly finding some relief; brave of you to step back and take time off. I know only too well myself. This site sometimes reminds me of what a comfort blanket might be like.

If I dont respond straight away it is because my muddled mind has taken me off somewhere else. I am not always on here as well. Sometimes I am more on the carer side of the forum also.

Re: Life can be a Pain

HI @outlander@Former-Member

I am glad the cat has had her claws clipped - much safer for me - those claws were super-sharp - if she was asleep on my lap I was always alert to her jumping off suddenly and I have to be ready to hoist her away before the claws go in - oh yeah.

And she is a small cat and for a while people were commenting on her skinny appearance - and she was going to the vet every couple of months for a weigh in - and this time it is the first time she has gained weight for over a year - so I am relieved about that

I have had a drippy nose for a couple of weeks - I think I have an allergy - I can take something to dry it up and it works for a few hours - but starts again - I think it's the cold - I am feeling cold today - this unit gets cold but it's the only thing wrong with it - I like this place too much to move because I get too cold for a few weeks in winter

Right now my biggest gripe is the small planes at the local airport - they fly over one after another - in fact there might be several in the sky at once and I usually don't notice - maybe I am not really well but the drippy nose is the only symptom - enough of that

This cleaner is a good one - she makes the house look so good I don't want to spoil it but yes - I do live here and dishes happen

Time I had a bread roll and a coffee -
