Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @Zoe7

Sometime last night I think things became difficult - I have an idea what happened.

I'm so sorry that occurred - I have been in a similar place myself and know how hard it is to take - wow - with going back to school today and all -

I hope you are feeling okay - and know you have my support -

All I can do is to let relevant people know I care - I hope your day at school goes well - how I wish that for you

All the best - thinking of you

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Owlunar .. and thanks for your posts today. Your thoughtfulness is really appreciated. What occurred last night has really affected me, despite only being on the sidelines and not directly involved. I really cannot handle conflict, it sends me into panic mode and an overwhelming desire to flee. The old fight or flight thing I guess. I feel so sad and upset for the members involved, but know there isnt anything I can do to help either of them. This is still very fresh in my mind from my own experience only a month ago. Not handling it well at all.

What are your plans for today .. anything exciting you wish to divulge? I think its pretty cool down your way already. Its wet here, with passing showers still happening, but it remains quite warm and mild. Just dreary, similar to my mood. I keep reading that thread, concerned I said something wrong. Right now my heart feels broken, I'm hurting and I'm not sure how to turn it around.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Former-Member

I understand - I read it and can see how it happened and you certainly didn't cause it - you were being your gentle and supportive self when things suddenly went out of control - I get it

There are things I can write here because of the guidelines but I can say that it upsets everyone involved - not just the people in the conversation but other people reading it - and it has happened to me too in the past so it is painful in the extreme.

So - I noticed you reached out to others and that is the best you can do in these circumstances and I know - I really do know - how unhappy you are about this - I wish I could say more but I really can't and I am sure you understand these limitations.

It is heartbreaking though - you were being so supportive so it is doubly hard - try and take things easy today

My domestic help has turned up - I didn't have the cleaning lady last week so vacuuming etc is necessary and I can't do that - asthma etc - otherwise it is another quiet day keeping safe from the coronavirus and I am like so many other people looking forward to being released form the lockdown

It's cool here today and I think we are in for wintery weather - I missed the lovely sunshine yesterday because I get photophobic when I have a headache and that has completely gone

I know you are unhappy - I wish there was something I could say to ease that - but here's the thing - you are a loving and sensitive person and that can't change - it doesn't change - and you are confronted with challenges so often - this is just another one and you certainly didn't cause it.

If I could I would gather you under my wing - maybe this is why I love owls so much - they have big wings to shelter hurt people - although I am getting off line for now I will be back later

Sending hugs

I'm sorry @Former-Member ... although I dont understand. You didnt request any edits, my full post is still here ... and yet you give me an official caution? No worries ... I just wont post anything at all any more.

@Owlunar My apologies to you too for anything I may have said wrong here. I'm very confused.

Hi @Former-Member

You didn't say or do anything wrong and certainly didn't upset me and nothing I read would have caused you to receive a caution - not from what I read anyway

I could see you were extending yourself to help support someone - and it blew up out of nowhere and I am so sorry you have been hurt by it

There's no need at all to stay away - I really love it when you post

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Former-Member @outlander @Shaz51 @Zoe7

It's Wednesday - yesterday I had a message from the pain specialist staff about my appointment on tomorrow and I decided not to go this time - this the coronavirus fear around sitting for thirty minutes or longer in a taxi with a driver I don't know was more than I consider wise and I decided social isolation has it's safefy values

Also - with the pain I have had I decided to see - or rather speak to my psychologist on-line - first - and I can order and MRI through my GP and I felt better about things immediately -

So I have organised to speak to my therapist on-line next week and I will see my GP today and get and order for an MRI -

Most of the time I go with the flow but when necessary - I exert my decisions when I want to - and we had heavy rain last night and today's weather warnings suggest we stay inside - it could be cold out there

Have the best day possible everyone

All the best for Wednesday

Re: Life can be a Pain

Probably some wise decisions made there in the circumstances @Owlunar Having the MRI will give you some definitive answers I hope and you can then work out a way forward to deal with the pain. Love and hugs to you Dec
