Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi guys, it's great to see your supportive friendship here @Owlunar and @Zoe7. I do just want to flag I did notice some alluding to and talking about forum members yesterday that is approaching the respect guideline. I know you know this place inside out and know the guidelines back to front, and you are both long time members who have contributed so much.

We'd love your help role modelling the type of behaviour we'd like to see in all members. Please keep discussions about other people on the forum positive and supportive. Or if you need to discuss how someone is impacting you negatively I encourage to take it off the forum to friends, family, supports, counsellors, helplines etc.

I know we all feel an increase in conflict recently I'd love your support helping us contribute to making this place supportive and positive.

Nice work @Owlunar
Solar system is such an interesting thing to learn about. And to think there are millions just like in our galaxy... And millions of galaxies too

Re: Life can be a Pain

Lovely to hear about your jigsaw experience.

@Decadian @Owlunar

It can be very satisfying and lovely that your daughter gave it.

I am playing jigsaws in the garden with big and little pavers and learning about toppings and cement mixes ... It is hard work but satisfying for me, good for Vit D and sleeping well at night. Looking more like a brickie atm. lol

It is really very difficult to deal with a person who is actively suicidal or even just talking about it on the forum. Extra difficult given our histories. Given this is a take all comers service, it can hard to know exactly where people are coming from and what their needs really are, so yes generally triggering and upsetting for all who read.

What helps and what does not varies.

Some ability to discuss surrounding issues helps, and I see the forum as an evolving and tek-organic mix as it is real people who post.

Today in a phone session my psychologst asked how I compared now to 5 years ago. I was totally at the edge of my tether when I first joined and feel much more connected and supported now.

I am looking at a virology course atm so getting science fix that way.

Take Good Care of yourself and Cheers

I remember going to church with my family one very clear night - it might have been Christmas, 1946. The sky was so full of stars it was dazzling - and there was a comet - with a tail - and I remember it clearly and for some reason I was afraid of it and thought it had something to do with the war. And of course it did - the war was over but Melbourne was still browned-out and light-pollution soon started to take those stars away and I haven't seen a comet since.

@OwlunarHope you are doing alright.

Hugs @Shaz51 It is a big decision, and you are doing all you can be decently expected to do. Walking with you.

@outlander

@Jo-anneJoyAmazing and thoughtful for you to find that online. I love it when personal memory fragments are validated from official sources.
