Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

I love broccoli - or as I call them ....little trees Also love cauliflower and mashed potatoes and would rather eat a carrot than a raspberry ...but then would have the raspberry afterwards. Love a good roast and chocolate also - making me hungry lol

@Owlunar Never been able to eat cherries - it is not the season for them yet. There is a cherry farm close to where my parents live and they are usually ready just in time for christmas.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @BPDSurvivor

I remember the past when there were days that I couldn't get out of bed - and without needing to wait at all my psychiatrist would put me into hospital - I totally despaired - I could not see that anything could change - but it did - and then I went on changing things about myself - like getting a new car, separating from my then-h and changing my name - and more

Name changing - the easiest change caused the most trouble - now why was that

If only I could bottle my resilience and give it to everyone who needs it. I know it's not something that wears out with use but rather grows and grows - having sef-esteem is good and I often wonder why some people have it and others don't -

There is a lot about that on a thread called Self-Love and Self-Hatred - something I will get back to when I feel as if I have more to add. I haven't worked that out yet

Cherries might be better in Tassie @Zoe7 -

When I was a kid I remember having them a lot - and they were smaller - and that might be a reason.

Here they seem large and often have brown patches - not something I want to eat - too much hard work

One of my favourite dishes is baked chops - or meat-loaf - I surround the bottom and sides with foil and then prepare enough vegies for two days baked in the oven - sprinked with roast vegetable sprinkles - I was going to have that for dinner tonight but the second half will last until tomorrow.

Right now I feel like a CTL with vegemite sandwich - easy to prepare and it doesn't make a pile of dishes

When I was a kid we had peasnmashedpotatoes, etc etc etc - I still like peas though

I actually enjoy cooking

I love peas @Owlunar I always have frozen peas and corn in the freezer but love them fresh and uncooked as well. We always have peas at christmas and it is Dad's job to shell them - and our job to eat them fresh as he does lol I love making mashed potatoes with garlic, lemon and parsley - yummy! But my favourite way to have potatoes are scallop potatoes - only problem is I can't have much otherwise it really affects my IBS.

I know the cherries we have here are pretty good quality - must be the right climate for them.

Hope you enjoyed your sandwich, are asleep now and the pain is better tomorrow

Hi @Zoe7 @Maggie @Bunniekins

I had a good night's sleep - that does make a difference - I could have stayed when I was all day but we eventually have to get up for some reason so here I am - there are days when I get on-line ealier and this is a helpful stragegy because yes - Pea - I know my friends are always here for me - a wonderful thing about this website - people gather around when we are battling and I was last night but feel easier about everything this morning

I love peas and corn too Zoe - and I love them fresh - I don't actually cook peas if I have to shell them - I eat them raw and remember my mother going crook because I did this - and I like corn on the cob - plenty of butter and salt really make it a treat - and lately I have been cooking asparagus - it doesn't seem to taste the same as it did when I was young but it certainly does go down with Chicken Kiev with garlic butter drizzled over it - really great. I like adding herbs to my cooking too - that does make it more interesting - I love the fresh taste even from dried herbs - I need to get my daughter to set new herbs in my pots - they always do really well when she uses her magically green fingers - my brown elbow makes it hard and I have no idea why this is the case - I am better at other things in life I know but this can be just plain embarrassing

And thanks for the plant stand at my door Maggie - that looks lovely - if the flower are creeping geramiums then I know they will grow for years and spread out - that is a lovely thought - thank you

And everyone else - thank you for your supportive thoughts - they worked - today is a different day

@Owlunar

So good to hear! I think I'm on the same boat as you. I've woken a different person today and at least the sun is shining on my side. Can't wait to get out of the house!!!
