Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @Maggie and @MDT

Yes - I will have something small to eat - there are no good movies on TV tonight - what a bummer! Just when I need one. But I have a few recorded that I can enjoy

It seems I have a collection of orthopaedic problems - this is my lot and luckily I prefer it to things a lot of other people have. Like MI pain can only be managed and I have been through the despair of MI - far in the past

I have a plan to see a psychologist - a past like mine can follow me around - does follow me around - it's not something I can not mention to a specialist. I can't change the past either so I do have to work with a therapist which could work well when I seen this pain specialist.

Ye-ah - and

Life would be so very long

If all went right and nothing wrong

Which cheers me up not at all

Thanks @Zoe7 and @Bunniekins

I know the Pea will read when you can - it's hard to concentrate when someone decided to chat - I will be looking forward to hearing from you

And Zoe - atm I have adequate pain medication - my permit is current until next April

This has been a busy week for me and yesterday was a Wheat Pack Day - spending time in my armchair with the wheat pack between me and the back of the chair - heat is the best thing for the pain

I noticed recently that I was doing this more than previously - I had an idea that reducing medication was causing that - self-imposed restriction - my GP tells me to take what I need for the pain and I usually take less - I will make sure I take things easy and manage the situation over the weekend though.

Everyone has different ways of managing chronic pain - I wish everyone the best. The last one I heard was from an elderly lady collecting funds for children with RA - how rotten for them! - so much pain so young! - anyway the elderly lady had a unique idea - she found eating cherries helpful

I am she of little faith when I comes to cherries but I might just give it a try - it can't hurt

I couldn't do that @Owlunar Really do not like cherries.

Do what you need to reduce the pain and manage as best you can. If the heat pack is giving some relief then continue using it as much as your need and if you need meds then so be it. Pain like that is debilitating so whatever gives you some relief.

Thanks @BPDSurvivor @Maggie @BlueBay

You are right - we are Warriors all - whatever the battle we are in it

And I forget who wrote what

I have been to this new pain specialist before and it will take the issue seriously - he does have a treatment that would most likely work for this. I had it before - life was different - how many years ago? 15+ - that would be right - but everyone's best wishes are keeping me on top of it all right now

Yes BPD survivor - I have had really severe depression and anxiety in the past - the depression was reactive and therefore my psychiatrist did not give me antidepressents - he knew the situation at home and treated me by putting me in hospital and sedating me for a few days and then I would go back to manage my son who most likely had BPD and did have ADHD and ADD as well - depression no doubt - the whole scenario was different then

My MI pain was related to the difficult son - and that still impinges into my present life when triggered but I am much better now. I had so many things go wrong the year my son died - I know that MI pain can be so serious one can't always see passed it

But all these years later mostly I do - but I need to see a therapist about it to indicate that I have survived it all intact - I have - but I need some tangible proof about that

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Owlunar ,

I applaud you for the strength you display. I can only take my hat off to you, knowing how difficult life has been, and currently is, for you.

If anything, I need some of your resilience to ride out the waves of life.

We're with you Dec!

I am not fond of cherries either - maybe I could try a few but as a long-term commitment - I don't think so

Sometimes they are okay - actually I just thought that I like canned black cherries - or I could cook some - it's not easy to find good quality cherries though

I don't like broccoli either - or cauliflour - or mashed potato - a once-off fix might be okay but as a long-term thing - no - not happening

But if it was raspberries, roast dinner or chocolate - totally different idea
