Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Hi @outlander @Shaz51 @utopia @Bast @BlueBay @Zoe7

I went outside late last night and there was some kind of unusual creature on the power line leading into my home

Shining a torch onto it proved it to be an owl - and it sat there for as long as I looked - and it looked at me - I took some photos but they are not good and I can't transfer them - still trying

But this was so special - I still love owls and this is the first sign I have seen of one around this district all the time I have been living here

Still trying to transfer the photo

I saw owls in the wild when I was a small child - it's a very special memory

And the one I saw last night feels wonderful - I hope it comes back - it was really quiet and just sat on the wire when I talked to it and walked in and out and took photos with the flash - it was beautiful - I am not sure what kind it was

Thanks @Maggie

Such a special moment for you last night with the owl @Owlunar - it is those moments that not only bring a smile to our face but allow us to just be in the moment with the pleasure of the experience

Hi @Zoe7

It's been great to see you back in the forum again - I hope you are feeling as well as you can be

That owl last night was a special moment - I think it would be for anyone but for me owls are special - like messengers from Heaven I think

I take seeing it as a good omen - or answered prayer

I'm still smiling and it's so great to have such a special moment to share

Been slowly 'dipping my toes' into a few more threads lately @Owlunar but still can't deal with some things so have to restrict my support to just a few still. I know you get how that is but needing to look after myself first.

That owl is indeed a special moment and one you can take forward with you. It really is the most unexpected moments like that that bring us joy. I have those moments every day when I come home and see Toby so excited to see me - never fails to bring a smile to my face even in the darker times. So grateful for my fur babies

Hi @Zoe7

I do know about caring for oneself first - it's a vital part of our self-esteem - we are learning to value ourselves and our commitment

And we do better for other people when we do -

I hope your classes are working out for you - I know this school has been a better situation for you - it would be great if this continues - I certainly wish you the best

Maybe the good feelings about my owl can brush off onto others - let's hope so

I have been outside to see if it's back tonight - if she's back tonight - I hope she comes back - I will have to think up a name for her if she does

I guess I miss my cat - I'm so glad you have your fur babies - I would love to have a friendly owl
