Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Thanks @utopia @BlueBay @Maggie @Bast

It was hard - being assertive always is

But it's worth it

It took me all weekend to recover from it - but I am glad I perserved and stuck to it and I might be a difficult person to deal with at times but it is something I am informed about and know my own body

People might treat anyone who insists on their own thoughts like difficult children - that's okay with me - what other people think isn't my problem - it would be my problem if I didn't stick to my guns

That is a lovely picture - such a lovely thought

It's amazing how knocked out I have felt after the events of the last couple of weeks - I have hayfever now - quite normal - there is nothing mysterious about the cause - I like the Golden Wattle outside my unit - I can take antihistamines for it - no hardship there

But I am tired - I will be booking my trip to Cairns in a couple of weeks - I am really looking forward to going away again - and getting back to the tropics

I hope you are as well as you can be - knowing you have all sorts of health issues too - and then there is Pop - that can't be easy - dementia is a tough subject - tough on families - but depending on how it affects your Pop - he might be okay - I don't know

All the best

Hello @Owlunar

hope you are feeling a bit better xx

i read your message to bluebay and thought i would reply over here , I agree with you

with me it is with my father as you know

and over the years mum has told me other little things about my dad , which i don`t want to share with anyone , and now that he is gone , it does not matter anymore

and like you said ages ago that it was sad that i never had the chanch to talk to him why he kept rejecting me -- he has been gone 12 years now so that is in the past now too

i was at the hospital yesterday and they had mum and dad`s medical details and it read that dad had a Mental Illness -- now i am wondering what it was

thank you my second mum @Owlunar

Hi @Shaz51

Thanks for your encouraging reply - your Dad - my mother - yes - they die and take their secrets with them and we have to let them go. And that is the best thing we can do for our own well-being - after all - we can't change anything. Our parents were damaged by the circumstances of their own lives

When I was little it seemed that the Second World War covered everything with a grungy pall - I didn't know anything else of course - and I had nightmares about it in my early years and very young came to the realisation that our mother couldn't protect us against anything. She woud tie the front gate to keep us inside and it is true that everyone has to grow up with whatever their parents' demons are but tough to be three years old and to understand that tying the front gate kept scary things inside with us - I was only a little girl with a little brother only a year younger and I was already the protector

But enough of that - we are shaped by our past and maybe we are better people because of it - I know my kids had a better life because I had questioned so much and made choices about things when I was very young - so that's a good thing

Thanks Shaz - you are such a good friend - I think about you and Mr Shaz and your Mum and poor little kidney a lot and care about my lttle friendly family in Queensland a lot

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @outlander

I saw my doctor last night and I am doing the right things for my hay-fever but it does take a short time for the nasal spray to start working - I have been taking the antihistamine tablets for longer - I don't might them but I don't like the nasal-spray much - and today - so far (touch wood) - I think I am feeling better and sneezing hasn't started yet

My doctor says it's the season and the reason and people feel very tired and add sneezing to a bad back and I know I have it - I sure do - I did get a good night's sleep last night though - and it made a difference I am sure

I remember that you were supposed to have an operation and I think I know what it is but I am not sure - tough when you have to fit it in around you Pop's appointments - caring is a 24/7 employment situation though - and very tough that - will your Mum help out by picking you up afterwards? I hope she can manage that - and it would be great if you could have a couple of days rest too - I wish you the best with that

They don't keep people in hospital very long now - sheesh - it's nearly two years since I had my knee operation - I got to stay in overnight because I am a senior citizen and live alone but most people would get up and go home a few hours afterward for that

And my son-in-law had open heart surgery and was okay to go home after only a week - though he could have stayed longer - but I guess I wouldn't want to stay there any longer than I had to -

All the best Outlander

Um - plans for the weekend - cooking today - I am planning a meat-loaf and baked vegetables - I bought a good sized baking tray and the idea is to make enough meat-loaf to last me two days and enough vegiers to stir-fry them tomorrow - I do enjoy this - cooking and eating what I cook

Also - seeing as I am busy with vegetables I am making my home-made vegie soups special - I didn't do this last weekend - or during the week - I was feeling tired with hay-fever and couldn't be bothered - totally totalled - not a good feeling at all

That's similar to blah - the difference is that sneezing actually destroyed the appetite and cooking isn't as likely to happen - after I have done that I hope to make cookies -

To me that's an interesting day - and I am reading a good book atm too

So - what are your plans this weekend
