Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Thanks @BlueBay

I haven't heard anything for a couple of days so I assume everything is okay - my daughter said she was going back to work yesterday - for part of the day - and I know she is exhausted so I haven't been on the phone to her since - um - Monday evening - and I might ring her tonight but - yes but

She is totally overwhelmed with phonecalls and text messages from people - they are a very popular couple with a large circle and she is missing messages - I thought I would back off - she knows I am here and I am giving her a break from constant interuptions as she gets on with everything - she isn't allowed access to her phone at work though during an emergency she would probably be allowed to have it with her

She is really tired and so am I really - I think this is normal - I am glad I have the forum family right now - yesterday I didn't come in - I had to see my one of the doctors at my clinic to have my toenail looked at - it's okay - I can shower this evening or maybe later today which will be great -

Sommetimes it's normal to feel really washed out - unpleasant yes - but that's life - self-care is vitally important so that's what I am about - I don't know if my sil is out of ICU yet and can have visitors - and if he can his sons would be the important ones to see him -

But I am getting mysef together gradually - hopefully I can visit him tomorrow - I think he will be having a week in hospital

This was a massive shock - I am only beginning to realise how much of a shock it was for me personally now - it must have been so much more so for my daughter and his kids

Sometimes standing on the sidelines can be really hard work - as they say - they also serve who only stand and wait - and it is a tough stance but we don't have to know everything every minute -

But I do appreciate your most - a great deal - thank you

Hi @BlueBay @outlander @Shaz51 @BryanaCamp @Faith-and-Hope @Razzle

My son-in-law is going home from hospital today - the heart condition he had was very serious - he could have had a fatal heart attack but he just doesn't complain - he had tight feelings in his chest that would go away after he had rested so he is one lucky man - we all are - he is an important part of many lives including mine. We have all had a second chance.

I had the chance to have a fairly long chat with my daughter on the phone last night - she has been going to work but this might be harder now sil is home from hospital because he will have medical appointments and physio - it will be a lot of coming and going and sorting and when-do-we-do-what happening -

And it's still hard work being on the side-lines - knowing my daughter is getting so many texts and phone-calls I have been giving her space and feeling anxious about her too. Anxiety is one of my things and I am allowed to be concerned - it would be weird if i wasn't - the last few days I have been feeling really tired and not at all well and I am better today - I gave myself time and rested with my foot elevated - it's looking really bruised and I thought that self-care was necessary - the immediate family is the most important

We are all really lucky to still have him. This has been a tough week - it will be great to see him - he was up at my place a few weeks ago and I didn't know that he was having chest pain and he had it while he was working on my garden

Thanks everyone - your support when he was having the operation last Saturday was fabulous - really wonderful

Hi @outlander @Shaz51 @Faith-and-Hope @BlueBay

I have been feeling overwhelmed over the weekend after all that happening with my son-in-law - and all my daughter has been going though - it just caught up with me I guess so I have taken time for myself but really grateful for your supportive messages

He came home on Friday - such a short time in hospital after such major surgery bothers me slightly but it's much better to get home and away from the bugs in hospital - he has been sleeping a lot but today (my daughter texted me) he is awake and looking better and happier - I guess that was a huge shock for him - when my daughter saw him the night before the operation he was dazed from the anaesthetic for the angiogram and didn't realise he was having open heart surgery the next day - he thought that for some reason they hadn't been able to do the operation he thought he was happening - that was right actuallty but he was spaced out naturally - and confused

I am seeing him tomorrow - I respect and admire him as a person and sooooooo glad this has come to pass and he will be okay - I think my daughter will be taking some time off work - I guess it's a play it by ear thing - it's huge

But thanks everyone - I need to go out for a walk in the fresh air I think - my toenail operation has been infected so I have been resting it - the antibiotics make me feel off colour too but it looks a lot better today

Thanks everyone

Thanks @Former-Member

It is so great my son-in-law is home and recovering - it's the best news possible -

And my toe - it's okay if I leave my shoes and socks off but flares up if I shut in up inside - and this weather is so chilly - but it has recovered before and it will again -
