Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Yes @Zoe7

2nd December - he would be 49 - really hard to believe because in many ways he is a teenager

Leaving Toby all day when you haven't done that for a while will be a bit tough for both of you - I suggest lots of cuddles before you leave and then lots more when you get home and a little treat if he can have one

All the best tomorrow - it will be a big day for you

His is 10 days before mine and a year older @Owlunar - will be thinking of you this weekend Hon - I know you will get through it in the amazing way you deal with everything but anniversaries still touch us

The anniversary of my Nan's death is coming soon too - less than a week after my birthday and then Toby's birthday is the day after. I like to think he was born at that time to bring a little of my Nan's joy into my world - he has certainly done that

Toast with vegemite - I love that - what a brilliant suggestion for a treat @Shaz51

That is wonderful

Memories - ah yes - I loved playing with the furry little paws - that's the front paws - and she had her claws clipped often - I will miss that but it's the sort of thing that stays in the memories

But then - no more going to bed leaving the tv and light on so the cat doesn't notice I have gone to bed - but then waking up to creaky meows in the morning with someone walking up the bed toward me stretching - the light would still be on in the lounge but the TV usually turns itself off around 3.00 am

Wow - coincidences happen @Zoe7

My Gran's birthday is on the same date as we adopted my son - 16th - and my Gran's anniversary is between Christmas and New Year - I get through Gran's dates okay - she died when I was 21 - but she was a fantastic person - I learned a lot from her - her Irish nature more than just slightly rubbed off on me

Companion Cat came her between Christmas and New Year 15 years ago too - I like to think she was conceived especially for my pleasure - I am sure she was

I like to think she was conceived especially for my pleasure-- I am totally sure she was @Owlunar

one of my cats was dumped and she just walked in , she was soo tiny , went pass the cat and the dogs and took over the house

I got my Cat the day after my birthday so I think she was sent to me also @Owlunar. Having her and Toby with special days in December certainly help with the anniversary of my nan passing as well as getting through my birthday. We always say nan just held on to see my birthday and then felt it was ok to go - my birthday was the last time she was home before going back to hospital - I picked her up especially for the day and she got to spend one last night with all her family and with Pop so my birthday despite having lovely memories of that day was also the last time we were all together - that is hard for me when the family now want to do something for my birthday.

@Zoe7

Hard because that was the last time you were all together? - I understand that

I believe Toby was born just for you too - and makes this time of year easier

I remember the Christmases when my family was altogether - then there were years when I was not there and then a few years we were again and now too many people have gone

I have my daughter's families now and I see them sometime over Christmas - but not always on Christmas Day - this year my daughter is having her operation and I don't know if she will be well enough to be with the whole family which can be a lot of people but I intend to see her that day -

After all this time I am used to being alone but not on Christmas Day - I want to see my daughter on that day - but still Christmas Day is often a long day when I eat too much chocolate

But once or twice a year it's okay to eat chocolate

@Owlunar @Shaz51 We are having my sister's partner's family down to their place for christmas this year so there will be 6 extra people this year. It will make the day go quickly as well because they will most likely fly in and out on christmas day - that is what they have one before and we have flown to Melbourne for the day also. It makes for a very long day when you are the ones doing the flying though

@Owlunar Seeing your daughter and family might be all you can manage this year but if that is the case then it will be enough for you.

@Shaz51 I bet you will be organising christmas for everyone - you seem to do most of that in your family
