Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @utopia

You are right - I do have a very strong daughter and I am beginning to see where it comes from - I have been too busy fighting the odds to take much notice of how I must seem to her but yes - the apple didn't fall far from the tree

It is a hard thing to lose a child and those of us who have would never want anyone else to know what it's like - I find @Former-Member a tremendous support - she is a wonderful person

This terrible MRSA - I remember when I first injured my spine I was admitted to a big hospital as an emergency and I was in a really old part of the hospital that was being renovated. There were four of us in this same room which I saw when I was a later admission every time I passed - I can hardly believe how tiny that room was - and at the time - how dirty the carpet was.

The woman in the next bed had surgery for an abscess in her leg - I was having all sorts of tests and wondered how bad this creepy bug could be and how it could travel and if it was already in the dirt in the carpet - it was all cleaned out but empty when I last saw it a long time ago but I really think that it was an example of how MRSA could hatch.

Still I needed a night in the nice clean hospital I was in last year - and it is private and I had a room to myself. There were two wounds in my knee and one of them leaked a lot - had I been at home that would have meant going back to hospital yet I was only there because I live alone. It would have been problematic if I had been home - I guess I have been thinking of that with my daughter having too very short stays in hospital in a month and the first time she should have been in hospital over night she was so ill and in so much pain.

I guess there is always that fine line - one thing I have gather through years is that being over-clean is one reason that MRSA can grow and spread - who knows - this thing is really scary

I know you are here for my Utopia - it means a lot - thanks

HI @Former-Member

I read somewhere that you are having a really hard time with SI atm - I know how that can really get to you and that can be so hard to manage - I understand - I forget where I read that but I am answering that here for your sake and I only have a few minutes

I really care Lapses and hope to get back later - I am also glad you are having that MRI - you have had that back pain long enough for it to be called chronic pain now and an MRI will help to sort all of this out and I wish you the best

Sending lots of hugs - Fridays are busy but I will be thinking of you -

@Former-Member@Appleblossom@Shaz51@utopia@Faith-and-Hope@outlander@Zoe7

Late in the afternoon when I saw my doctor he had received a letter from my ex-psychologist saying she thoughts I could benefit from on-going psychotherapy but I had chosen to discontinue - it had been written on the day of the session I could not attend because I had severe back pain and was charged $55.00 (not paying that) and it entirely misrepresented me

Wow - apparently I am severely depressed with severe anxiety and I have never recovered from son's death and have had many psychiatric hospital addmissions - sheesh - my doctor knows me and says I am okay but I feel really unsettled and I could do without that

I feel like yelling "Enough - Enough - Enough" but I know what she wrote is a distortion of the truth - I am not depressed - I am allowed to be unhappy and I haven't been inside a psyche hospital for over 30 years and this was the pits to read - I feel as if this was a form letter with blank spaces to fill in her own words and it doesn't work out at all

If I am "severely depressed" I can't imagine what some people feel like - I read what depressed people feel like and I don't feel like that at all - it seems as if the past has been dredged up and thown out as correct info and I am upset and why not? My need to ring Life Line was thrown in there as well.

It's not my thing to write like this - I did ring Life Line and had the person on the line agree that ringing them is part of self-care - and that's what they are there for

I will get over it - I am glad I can vent here - I feel misread and this is a whole shambles. I am not in a hurry to see someone else but my doctor has given me a referral - I will think about this

Ever felt as if you have been kicked when you are down? Of course you have - not a good feeling - I still have a lot of things on my mind - my daughter feels a lot better but I don't know about my relatives in Tassie - I have tried to write a couple of times but the words won't come together - maybe I should use my Word Pad rather than hand-write -

I will be okay - I will always be okay - but on an unhappy-right-now scale - I don't do well right now

Thanks peeps
