Life can be a Pain

Life can be a Pain

Hi @BlueBay@Zoe7@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@utopia@oceangirl@TAB@Shaz51@PeppiPatty

I know there are more people I could tag but maybe I will think them up as I go along - actually I already have

I think I need my own thread - mostly my problem is chronic pain syndrome - I damaged my spine with the sporting excesses of my youth - a long time ago now - and I managed to rearrange it when I fell of my pushbike in a wind storm nearly 22 years ago and that seems a long time ago now but there is nothing they can do except treat the pain - and I do have Section 8 medication and I see a pain specialist

And the pain has been worse lately and wears me down and I get fed up and very tired -

I have issues with my mother as well - and although she died 2 years ago I still have bad times now and again - she was abusive and as well as I know myself and her this can get to me at times - and this is another reason I opened my own thread

Then there is TS - my Toxic Sister - she was under my skin for a while but not at the moment

So yesterday I felt so bad when I went to see the doctor about my back pain - and my pain specialist has cut my medication back several times over the last few years and she has gone too far - and I started to tell my doctor - yes - I cope with the pain better since my mother died - but it's driving me crackers atm and so are the memories of my mother

So that's it for now - I have had trouble opening this thread for some reason but now I have - I will run my own story - I would like to think I don't need to but yes - I do

You are all such wonderful supportive people - you are my soft place to land - that is so true

And anyone I have missed I will tag as I go along

Lots of hugs everyone

@Owlunar. It rained here from about 1am & is still raining. Light rain. Nothing too heavy yet. But the heavy rain will come over the next few days.
The rain we had last week is nothing compared to what's coming.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @utopia

I woke up during the night and could hear the heavy rain and when daylight came I could see that there was so much rain my new gutters were overflowing and they have been several times during the day

Luckily my driver got me to the shops for my groceries - I was a bit overcome but the heat in the supermarket - luckily I had enough cash for my carer to pay for my stuff without me needing to go back over to the checkout - and I needed cat food as well which I buy in bulk from the vet - and I could pay that with my card -

I will be glad to get the stitches out

When we got back from the shops Companion Cat ran outside and I didn't know if she had come in or not and there was thunder which scars the cat and so she hides - then that heavy rain started again and I was worried but she was inside - whew - I could not bear the thought of her outside in the rain

I have been watching the radar maps and it seems as if this heavy rain is coming across the continent from the Kimberley which is why it's so muggy - and they keep telling us that tomorrow will be worse

So yeah - still thinking about the ark - and what about you - are you in danger of flooding where you are - I actually live near the top of a hill so it's unlikely to flood here but a local area has been supplied with sandbags -

What fun - we had a 13 year drought and now all this heavy rain - I sure hope you are okay where you are

Hi @Former-Member - my friendly spirit bear

I don't think it's raining here atm - for some reason this heavy rain has been in Victoria - Southern New South Wales and Tasmania

We have indeed had a lot of climate change over the years - I remember when my bro and I walked to school wearing oil skins, gum boots and sou'westers - Mum could drive but I don't think we were ever driven to school

It might be raining a lot but it is keeping pretty warm here though - very tropical

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Owlunar. My garden gets saturated and a bit swampy in places. My outside laundry always floods - expect it to be flooded when I wake up tomorrow morning. It almost flooded at midday - but thankfully the rain stopped.
No you wouldn't want your cat to be stuck outside during a storm. My dogs sleep inside. Had to take the little one to the vets today - large grass seed in her eye. She's a lot better now.
Today the temperature has been good - nice and cool after a week of heat and humidity.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @utopia

That is fun having a flooded laundry and that must be a regular event sometimes - maybe often

I just thought of a shocking joke - no - not telling it

I just looked at the radar and it's raining through Central Victoria atm - not in Melbourne but I guess we will get rain soon

It gives us something to write about though

btw - I really hope you don't get flooded out and half-drowned -

And @utopia

I'm glad your little dog is okay - and also glad that Companion Cat hides when there is thunder

Re: Life can be a Pain

My house won't flood. Only the garden. My little dog is now asleep.

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @utopia@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Shaz51

I hope you were okay in the storm Utopia and your house didn't flood - I was okay too as far as the storms were concerned but my weekend was a tough one

I just wanted to keep to myself and I deliberately did not look at my mail boxes because for some obscure reason my toxic sister gets dribs and drabs left over from my parents' estate and wants to send them to me and it seems she will email me when I am having sensitive dates she has to know about

So yes - I got a text - she had sent me and email about this same old subject and I wonder when this will stop and because I hadn't looked at my mail she texted me -

It's enough from here - I am tired of her doing this - she never mentions that the dates are sensitive - as far as I know this is totally over for her - as it should be I guess - but it is never over for me

I had managed the birthday, the knee pain and stiffness and the weather but not her - I will never get used to this - I can't even ignore her without her getting intrusive

Enough said

Re: Life can be a Pain

Your sister sounds like a toxic person to hear from @Owlunar. Rather than assume she knows these dates upset you - have you told her they do? I know my sister doesn't think like me. So I have to spell everything out really clearly.
I hope today is a better day for you. Don't let her get to you. Tou have been doing grsat lately and will continue to do so. Just try and ignore her as much as you can.
Sending you a warm hug. ♥
