Movies/ books as therapy

Movies/ books as therapy

Does anyone here find the feeling of getting stuck into a good story therapeutic?

That could be film, books, an album etc

I personally really love it when it feels like I find a story at the right time in my life and it speaks to me.

I may relate to the character/s, the themes, or the overarching messages, and often this helps me to understand or gain insight on something.

@Misty5 I was impressed by Orange is the new black. I started watching not knowing a lot about it beforehand.

The depth to the characters was amazing.

I didn't like some, then went into a backstory reveal. I ended up feeling so empathetic towards all of them. It showed how experiences can shape a person, for better or worse.

I loved how they took what's a heavy topic and worked dark humour throughout it.

I ended up watching "The Hunger" -

2 Seasons - 22 Episodes per season.

1997 - 2000.

Surprisingly entertaining for me.

Horror anthology series.

Each season has a host who introduces and closes comments on each episode.

Season 1 is Terrence Stamp.

Season 2 is David Bowie.

Caution with a disclaimer -

Probably Rated R.

It's graphic horror with buckets of gratuitous hyper-charged spicy smut.

Needless to say,

I enjoyed every minute of it.

Hey @Meredyth49 , it was you who told me about Tubi, right?

These movies are totally up my alley... that are the kind of movies I watch if I have to.
